If never injured, how good was Greg Oden supposed to be in the NBA?

with KD swoopin the mvp this year, still blows my mind dude was the 2nd pick in his draft.
never followed Oden in college, but what were his projections coming out of Ohio?

Honestly nothing crazy. Just had potential. Really his game wasnt all that nice even though its hard to be that polished with postwork at that age. When someone is that big and had decent success in college its kind of a no brainer. Just imagine how he would be ranked compared to people like hibbert, howard, bogut, etc... . Even if he was simply not injured he would be rated top 5 just because of the lack of big man in the league.

Never good enough that it warranted being selected over Durant.  And before all the hindsight replies, I said this before the draft.

He was supposed to be potentially like Dwight Howard once he developed a offensive post game. He could rebound well coming into the league already and he was good at blocking shots

He was a game changer on defense immediately. Really quick second jump. Could've been good in PnR too. Him and LMA could've been really good together IMO.

Ultimate post defender who can score...until he fouls out 10 possessions later.

Around 20, 15, and 4 blocks if he learned how to stay out of foul trouble which i think he would have. Shame injuries got him cause he had potential. He was a force down low as a finisher who could finish with both hands.

Best Center in the league. I know they lost but look at the work he gave Al Horford/Joakim in that championship game.

A defensive anchor that gave you a solid 20pts/10rebs a game in his prime. Wasn't the kinda guy you were going to make the focal point of an offense though. He'd be exactly what Howard is in Houston

i think he would be as good as dikembe but better offensively... im think 15/10 with a few blocks per game... he was a beast in college especially on defense and on offense he thought he was shaq and would dunk every time

Lot of revisionist history when it comes to Oden, his offensive ceiling was much higher than Dwight imo.
