Are they rip-offs if they were all adapted from Japanese television?
I think the Tatooed Teenage Alien Fighters are the only on that was actually made in the US? I could be wrong but I don't think this one was adapted from a Japanese show?

I do believe they started a few years before the Super Sentais.

The actor that played Ryan Steele was scheduled to play the Gold Ranger in Zeo but he backed out last minute. In fact, he did the voice for the morphed gold ranger. The actress who played Kaitlin on VR troopers not only had a kid with Shuki Levi (the executive producer of most of Saban's shows, but she played Tommy's rebound girlfriend after Kim dumped him.

I kind of view Ultraman as different because it's more like a dude becoming a giant than a flat out Power ranger type but yah it's right up there with the OGs like Godzilla.
