Something about that black knit.

At first I thought it was just mental since it's a black CW, but core blacks 1.0 fit tight and heard that Wood Wood Men's fit tight.

Does anyone have the 2.0 core blacks and do those fit tighter than the other 2.0 CWs?

Damn those are so nice! How's the comfort?

aside from the tightness on the forfoot, they're very comfortable. Im not sure about the pull tab on the front even though I get why its there.

this has nothing to do with the color of the knit. Its tight because of the way the shoe is kept on your foot with the elastic stretch instead of lacing.

I've seen the term tight with black knit more often than not to develop a correlation.

But yes, this seems to be more of a design issue as they are giving owners shoe-horns.

I wonder how they are going to hold up for y'all when you wear them for the majority of the day with moderate activity.

shoe horns just assist the owner in slipping their foot in. Has nothing to do with the tightness or the knit (altho the pull tabs on the front and back are much more useful in aiding foot insertion)

Can anyone shed some light on Ace 16+ availability in a size 13? I've only seen them up to a 12 and with everyone mentioning how tight they run I'm worried if I'll ever get a pair of my own.

BTW congrats @drisk34

I wanna like it (and don't get me wrong, it's nice to see it going to the feet of those that do), but those fat stripes of the cleat design are a wet blanket to the otherwise nice silhouette of the Ace PC. Hopefully the fact that these moved the way they did means that more are coming, preferably with some of the more understated branding of the other cleats.

the shoe horn helps more with just guiding the foot through the narrow ankle collar I believe. I havent used it. Its actually not very long.

Its treacherous terrain trying to get your foot in without accidently ripping the pull tab.

According to the dictionary.com

I think the shoe horn has everything to do with how tight the shoe is lol

the fat stripes is one of the features i liked about the shoe.

Its funny. I always disliked Adidas since I was a kid. Nike guy all the way. But now, I can't get down with any Adidas that doesn't have the stripes. I appreciate the stripes now.

I catch myself looking at the adidas logo now and thinking what a genius logo.

Fully converted. But i'll never stop wearing nike. Adidas has a ways to go to get me to start buying their clothing.

Ahh, ok.

Damn those look nice in that picture. Stock pics dont do them justice.
Yeah, even as a gradient, these would be a potential problem if it weren't for the heel stripe. Although, this is one of the better executions of it, IMO.

Also,

you gave a definition of what I described. How does an external piece of plastic affect how tight the knit is? The knit is tight because it's designed to be laceless. The shoehorn helps you slip your foot in. It doesn't make your shoe looser or tighter.

Adidas makes a lot of mistake with the heel stripes. red gradients would have been insta copped without the red stripe on the hell.

I appreciate it though. I like when a company does something to help me save money.

The tightness on the Ace Purecontrols has zero to do with the knit or the color of the knit. There is an inner bootie inside the shoe that's much more rigid than you'd expect. They're constructed very differently from UBs and most other PK shoes for that matter. They feel more like a soccer cleat than a running shoe.

I don't think it's a flaw or design issue, it's just the way the shoes fit. The shoehorn is a nice touch. I feel like the uncaged UBs should come with them too since they're just as difficult to get on foot for me.

I think I have a similar issue with a model when Nike places an oversized swoosh on it though. It's not necessarily a beef I have with the logos themselves per se. I guess it's more of a proportion thing.

And I don't necessarily mean a shoe nearly/completely devoid of branding either. (Like some of the Camo NMDs for example). I just tend to skew more towards the smaller branding of those other cleats. I'd be in for one of those (Like the X or the Messi, respectively). In profile I feel like the ace stripes overpower the shoe is all.
