Yes, American footwear market for sure, but not Metropolitan and other trendsetters.

NYC, SF, Chicago, Boston etc... I see the astronomic rise of the three stripes in the gym and on the street in the last 2 years and Nike is paying attention.

Just like if you're not paying attention now, you probably don't know Lululemon but in a few years they'll be a staple menswear brand as well.

This is all true. The anti-Adidas thing definitely seems regional to me.

Haha yeah my girl loves lululemon

Try on some Lululemon you'd love it too. Adidas is pure TRASH compared to Lulu quality lol.

Here, everyone wears Lululemon (for the men, definitely the more educated and wealthy you are).

This is true, but also the larger point is that Nike will still make way more money off of the casual consumer, and that's where the bulk of the business focus will always be.  I teach middle school, and the kids wear Nike shoes and apparel more than all other brands combined.  And while selling thousands of pairs of Flex Runs doesn't thrill the hypebeast market, money is money.  If they can make the LunarEpic (which is wild underrated) and the LunarCharge (haven't tried them yet) appeal to people, then, cool.  Look at the Roshe - it went from a boutique shoe to a model that sells over 10,000,000 pairs in a year (and that was for 2014, no clue what they sold last year).  Did it lose its "hype"?  Yes.  Did Nike make a ton more money when they opened up the presses?  Yup.

As a middle school teacher myself I see that Nike is the predominant brand. I do see Adidas apparel quite a bit though. Kids still go bananas over Jordan's, it doesn't matter if they're #'d or not, anything with the jumpman is fire. Hell I wear my foams and people stop and stare lol. But, adidas isn't pushing hard in my market(Boise ID area), it's virtually non existent as far as the hyped models. And we're talking about an area with 3/4 of a million people, many of whom have loot to drop and want the "newest" ****. Besides myself, I've only seen literally 2 or 3 people wearing UB's and 5 or 6 wearing NMDs in 1 and a 1/2 years up here. 1 of my students told me she was getting the Alpha Bounce for Christmas. That's a model that might get some traction with the price point and comfort. Adidas apparel is sub par to Nike/Jordan in my opinion though. Adidas might be hyped right now, but Nike is still getting sick money. Boost still has changed everything though, ridiculous comfort.

Yeah I would rock their **** but that price tag.....Ill pass

Like I said, a quick indoor pic.  Not sure what a proper representation should look like but I'm ok with that.  Dig it?  Cool.  Not so much?  Also cool.  I'm really enjoying them for what it's worth.  And if nobody out there agrees, I'll be cool with that too.  Thanks for replying!

Relax bud I wasn't insulting your pic or the shoes. I think they look good. I just meant it's hard to tell from that pic what they'd look like w jeans on as it's a close shot with baggy sweats. They look better on foot than I expected them to. Hell of a pickup for that price. Nice work.

Some people just got obsessive personalities lol.

There's a whole bunch of people that don't have UBs as their main in their shoe collection. But when you come to a boost thread your gonna have those enthusiast who cop 6 pairs of the same color.

Lol that is absolutely true. But I also think it's telling where enthusiasts focus there collecting as to where hype is. It's not just here either, any sneaker and streetwear centered
Forum/discussion is usually dominated by ultraboost talk.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I've been into both for years (25 years ago in high school it was all Campus and Gazelles for me - I'm not new to the Adidas train), I'm just trying to put perspective on the "domination" I've been reading about lately.  No doubt, Adidas had a terrific 2016.

And a former student who works at the local Lululemon was  just telling me last week that they had men's stuff - I had no idea.  But, yeah, that price tag...like I said, I'm a teacher.  Getting my running gear from the outlets works just fine for me.

I def see the Nike/Jordan heads taking notice of the UB hype, especially with the Kith/Naked release. I haven't see that many pairs of a particular UB on eBay ever since I stared on UBs.

Now those fools scooping up burg/olive 3.0 pairs like people gonna pay ridiculous resell amounts for em. It's insane.

GR CWs for UBs sit or sell at ~$20 above retail. GR NMDs on the other hand...

I never claimed adidas wasn't on the rise, it absolutely is. But you posted adidas seizing the number 2 as if it was a neck and neck thing and Asked for an immediate call to action from Nike. Idk what they're working on in the lab right now but I'm sure that they're more than aware of adidas rising fame.

I love boost and I love what adidas is doing, I just don't agree with some people comfort comparison. If the ultraboost is the true standard for comfort and it gets a 10/10, there are plenty 9/10s across many brands that put out comfortable sneakers as well.

No sweat here dude

Once or twice a year they have a sale, which is not called a sale, it's called "We Made Too Much".

Then, along with Ebates, you can buy a polo for $50 or something. Pants for $70. Don't tell anyone else though lol.

Also, you can't pull off Lululemon unless you have a gym body.

The fact that they have to bring up Nike in justifying their purchases is the only thing I need to read to know when they started liking shoes.

Nike, New Balance, Saucony, Asics, etc, all have comfort models = to UB.

And I believe you and I have agreed that other boost tech is more comfy than UB but those models sit.

If you can't find a huarache, presto or a lunar model that is as comfy as UB then you're not trying them on.

You don't own Yeezy V2s?

Because until you do, you only thought Ultra Boosts were comfortable...

Keep in mind we also live in a resell era too so a lot of people aren't even wearing these kicks long enough to break them in before they sell them

Or maybe everyone just a more sensitive feet than I do

Anyone in here grab the women's mystery red UBs? I like the look of them more than the burgundy. If you got them what size did you grab compared to your men's size? Should you go up 1.5 sizes as the standard?

Thx.

Collabs can only take you so far, especially with Adidas. How many colors are they gonna mix with a white sole until people start scratching their heads?

Nike Collabs like AF1 and dunk in the hype era reconstructed the whole shoe with different materials that made it appealing.

Adidas hasn't done anything to make swoosh heads bat an eye.

Wore my Highsnob UBs for the first time in a long time today. I don't know what it is but they are probably the most comfy UB in my collection (10+ cws). I don't know if it's the fact that it's a wool UB combined with the leather insoles. They also feel a bit less snug around the ancle compared to all the other regular UBs I have. They are probably my favorite UB when it comes to pure comfort.
