A good thumb's width. But not that big of a deal because your foot is locked down pretty good in the primeknit material. It becomes an issue if your foot isn't locked down and slides.

For those wondering the difference in hue. Ltd to the left. I have to admit. The new grey pair is fly as hell. I prefer the material on the new Greys over the ltd. will cop on discount.
