Not doubting you. But the UB craze has gotten out of hand in just 2 months. Whites were the only pair I paid retail on. You could get og and core blacks and deep discount on eBay just 2 months ago but now those same sellers are asking for $220+. It's insane

I appreciate a larger portion of the Hypebeasts are buying UB's becuase of the 'Kanye Effect' But on the flipside there must be a fair few (myself included) that are buying these purely for the Boost tech? I'm not interested in Kanye, don't follow his fashion etc, But UB's have me hooked probably the most comfortable sneaker I've ever owned. And from a looks/design perspective......its on point!

He "toured", and rocked them in "multiple" shows after the episode premiered. In the episode, there's a segment where he takes them off, and describes the shoe., homie.

He's been wearing the whites for a long time though. I'm assuming this show came out a couple of months ago? I feel like he's been wearing whites for way longer than that

Oh Im sure he knew it man... Adidas has millions riding on Ye's influence if not more.
Before the UB's he wore the Energy Boosts at the bulls game performance ...the switched to the UB.

I wouldn't doubt it. Apart from everyone who follows Ye and sneakerheads alike, the show's demographics, largely being women, contributed to such demand. We're talking about EVERYONE, not just hypebeasts, going after these shoes

Aww this is just darling.
I first didn't realize UBs existed until July. I was looking for yellow runners to make my all black duds pop, came across it then and saw the whites...fell hard but sad how Kanye made this so sought after. More research led me to this thread (I didn't realize Reddit had one too until... you know) and glad I joined this clan. Never bought the solar yellows though.

I'd say the tech boost wasn't a huge marketing success. It's usual until a store associate gives you a pair to try on, and yup, you're sold. Ye wearing them publicly basically told consumers, "Look, if you didn't get Yeezy boost, cop an ultra boost. I wear them more than my yeezys"

I'm man enough to admit, I didnt really look at three stripes till Ye moved over. That in combination with some really adidas design team (some ex-nike designers) and such really set it off for me and I'm glad I did. Now I own multiple pairs of Adidas shoes, further diversifying my humble collection

He definitely rocked the og's and the whites before the I am cait show. He's never talked about them until the show tho.

so i think im good on these shoes now. got the og purp/black and got whites. both combined for under $400. no new colors are gonna push me to cop as olive is too much and burgundy is just ugly. out this thread, been a pleasure ya'll. now just to purchase the pb yeezys
