engagement /marriage thread.

After being in a relationship that I thought was heading towards marriage, allow me to make a few suggestions for those on the road to marriage.

Live with your significant other for some time - this should be self explanatory, in case it's not though: how a person sleeps makes a difference, how/if they clean up makes a difference, are they good with bills. All these are questions you will kick yourself about if you never found the answer before walking down the aisle. Living with a significant other gives you a chance to see if the girl you fell for has been putting on a facade for a while.

How are arguments handled? If you have anger issues, get them in order before you even entertain being with another person. If you and your s/o argue, what's the outcome? Do you both walk away crying or angry? Or do you sit down and really resolve the issue so it doesn't linger? If y'all can't resolve a small fight, how can you ever resolve something bigger and more important?

Do you really trust your s/o? I'm not just talking about cheating either, do you trust them with your deepest secrets? A lasting marriage is built on trust.

LEAVE THE OTHER SIDE CHICKS ALONE!!!
You're entering a union, it's time to grow up and do right by her. If you still have other females on your mind, you aren't ready. Being out and seeing a random chick that looks so damn good is one thing, it's the others you see daily that you gotta worry about.

Understanding that even if y'all smashing 7 days a week now, it is a fact that it will slow down. Will you still adore her after a moment of no pleasure?

I got a few more, but figured I'd put these out first.

^That's some sound advice, 3s. I completely agree.

Did you have an MC or talkative DJ? I would assume they would put a lot of effort into getting the crowd excited

It was an MC with a DJ and live greek band. Covered all the basis

DJ wasn't anything special...i mean my friend and his wife enjoyed themselves, but yea, if it were my wedding, i would have wanted everyone to stay and go nuts

if nobody was dancing at the reception, would that bother anyone?

my friend got married last year, on one of the hottest/humid days (ceremony was outdoors) in July (hit mod 90s) and by the time after dinner portion of the reception hit, like only 3 people were out there trying to boogy...the dance floor was dead, dj kept trying to get folks out there but to no avail, and a good amount of guests left after dinner

felt bad for dude but than again, he did scheduled for that time

Leave a reception after food is served has to be one the most scumbag things I've ever heard...lol WHO DOES THAT?...people forget a bride and groom are paying for each and every single person in attendance so that they can celebrate with them...that's just terrible.

Make sure you have a bar or alcohol avail for the people, a charasmatic relative that could emcee and AC.

Whered you get the 10gs number. I thought it ranged from about 13k to about 25k. Also varies based on the season

I stayed 8 nights. Also dont stay in the sky rooms its the only one without your own in room infinity pool. The other rooms increase in price based on size and location. I stayed in a moon suite was about 20k

Oh you may have gotten that number from the non all inclusive price but you need to do all inclusive or else you wil be spending a ton of money on food and activities. Our daily food costs were about 400-500 but it was included. The restaurant has some amazing food but youd be lucky to walk out under 200 for a dinner

20G's???! Bro to each its own, if I had 20G's to spare I'd hit up multiple countries, stay in good hotels and live the experience, I've been to St Lucia, it's beautiful...but not much different than any other island...for that type of money me and Bae gonna experience different climates, shoot up to Alaska, spend some time there, catch the northern lights, then fly across to Asia, then Europe and then make our way back to the states....probably cost a bit more than 20gs but once you go into that territory, what's 5,000$ more?
