Hey guys, I am looking to buy some new basketball shoes because the ones I have now are really worn out.

I play point guard recreationally about 3-4 times a week for a few hours.

I have narrowed it down to two shoes: Kobe 9 em low vs the Hyper Revs

What are the pros and cons of each shoe, which would you personally get and why?

Any help would be appreciated a lot. Thanks

HyperRevs have very little support in the upper and the traction isn't quite as good as the Kobe 9. The HyperRev cushion (full length zoom) will last longer, as the full length lunar in the Kobe 9 will eventually start to bottom out. Personally, I would go with the Kobe 9 because I favor a little more support and traction. Also I have a pair of Lebron XI to swap the insert with. It's totally up to your preference though.

Pros of Kobe 9 EM Low:

1. Full Lunarlon cushioning insole.

2. Low to the ground court-feel.

3. Top of the line pressure mapping outsole traction. One of the best traction patterns out there.

4. Breathable mesh upper.

5. Solid TPU heel counter for a nice lockdown..

6. Dynamic flywire for lateral movement support.

Pros of Hyperrev:

1. Full length Nike Zoom for bouncy response and cushioning.

2. Full mesh and Fuse upper which leads to incredible breathability and flexibility.

3. Invisible heel cup for a nice heel support.

4. Dynamic flywire lacing system for increased stability.

5. Padded ankle strap for ankle support.

6. Very nice herringbone traction with solid rubber inner with a Phylite outer outsole. No slipping whatsoever.

Cons of Kobe 9 EM Low:

1. Not much ankle support for quick moves and cuts

2. Soft outsole will burn out easily outdoors.

Cons of Hyperrev:

1. DURABILITY

Personally I've had the Hyperrev and never have I ever had such a nice experience. The fit was so snug and the traction stuck like glue to any court condition. The mesh upper kept me cool during playing time and the cushion was absolutely responsive. Only downside to them were the durability. I started to see small holes in the mesh after about 4-6 months of use.
