Just wanted to share some thoughts and pics...

Thoughts:

I had a Big Mac twice while I was there and honestly they taste like the 90s. If you were born 86' or earlier you'll understand. I'm assuming its because their foods aren't loaded with all the crap we have here.

The barbers give you a cut and afterwards give you a massage. I saw dude's cheesing cause it was so relaxing. It was for less than $5. We're getting cheated over here. :smh:

There were times I saw cars parked on the side of the roads and people had pieces of carpets out and they were praying. I know they prayed at specific times of the day but I didn't understand how serious they took it. They have prayer rooms in malls, airport, grocery stores, etc.

There's always the side we don't see on TV and Abu Dhabi/Dubai were no different. I visited the "hood" of both and thought I was in a different country. The first time it was pretty sad and I almost let it ruin my trip because I started asking my boy and his girl questions. I've heard most people are treated like slaves but to see it was sad. They have these people cleaning up their country night and day. They probably get pay less than 600 AED per month. To give you an idea, I converted $120 USD and got 436 AED. Even my boy who works for a US based company just got his first raise in 2 years. The good thing is he doesn't have to pay taxes and his home covered.

They love their cars, especially Da Hemi. Never thought I'd see so many Chargers, Challengers, Mustangs, and Corvettes. Most of those always have a dope *** paint job in matte. The luxury cars are usually all white and dark tints. My next car gotta be white or matte.

The women don't make eye contact with you. If you're in an elevator and it gets to a floor where a women wants to get on, you have to get off and let her on. I never did that.

When to a poetry lounge in and there were some cool acts. Most of the women there were African. At first I thought maybe they were teachers from the States but most were from Sudan, Ethiopia, South Africa. All I could think about was that Ludacris line "the best women all reside in Africa, and that's real".

The architecture is insane. Some of the buildings they're in the process of building is just ridiculous. They're just building to build lol..

Went to a few clubs. In one of the them I don't think I took 10 steps before women were grabbing my hands asking me for my name. They find out you from the States and the price goes up. It was the reverse sausage fest. Some were bad as in good. Some were bad as in nah.jpg I didn't drank at that one. lol

They love Starbucks.

Great pics! Thanks for sharing. I really hope to visit one day.

Wow what kind of camera/lens did you use?

Thanks.

I used a Nikon D3100 with a kit lens. I did my editing with Lightroom 5.4.

Got some assistance from the photography thread and some friends on how to take pics. lol

The way you see NT **** on American cars, you'd think people around the world hate them. As you've seen it's not the case especially since they come at a premium outside of the states. One of the most popular models in England is Jeep. You shouldn't have let the slavery thing bother you. If you knew how those beautiful buildings were built, you probably would have left the same day.

Good thread bro.

I always assumed that you gotta be pretty well off to even travel to Dubai.
Did you find this to be the case?

Wasn't sure how to embed the IG vid but here they are

From the sky tower -

From the Dubai Mall - A damn skating rink -

Funny thing about the cars is the Chevy's cost more than most BMWs there.

I pretty much wasted 12 hours being sad one day. I even over tipped cause I felt bad but I realized one person can't fix it.

Honestly, aside from the flight its pretty much like traveling here in the states. That Holiday Inn I posted was next to my boy's apartment. I checked prices and it came out to about $150 per night.

Awesome photos.. what are round trip ticket prices for there anyway?

How would you compare Abu Dhabi to Dubai?  I didn't get the chance to see AD...  Loved Dubai though.

Dope. That's a hell of a Holiday Inn.

Did you eat at Texas Chicken? Isn't that the Church's Chicken logo? Are they one in the same?

Them biscuits.....

They build for the sake of building because they use 'slave' labor from Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Phillipines & Afghanistan to name a few. I grew up in the place and left in the mid 90s - it was a lot different then, even the lowly construction workers earned a better pay and there was less of an emphasis on 'stunting' and 'flossing' like there is now.

In the last decade they seize the laborers passports and deport them when the project is complete because the shell company that brings them to the UAE mysteriously goes bankrupt. Same story in all the Gulf states.

Abu Dhabi is more slow paced. There's not as much buildings but they are definitely working on it. Abu Dhabi seems smaller to me, like is a circle and its hard to hget lost there.

That was at a food court. The logo looked so familiar but couldn't figure it out so I took a pic and went to go look at chicken spots when I got back.

Yea, I heard of those stories. Terrible.

They won the bid to host the 2020 World Expo so they're really trying to do it big by the time that comes around.

Biggest hockey rink ever. I don't think Dubai is a good place for me to visit. I'd get too pissed for the same reasons along with a few others.

Man tell us the "good stuff."

1. Were you in a tourist area for the most part?

2. They love black men over there?

3. Give us some x rated stuff man

Damn man thats sick!

Is that barber buffing out dudes neck?

How much did the trip run you if you don't mind answering? I assume Dubai trip would be a pretty penny.  Which has deterred me from even looking into it.

Big Macs taste like the 90's? This bears investigating.

Man. The Big Mac looked like it was straigjht from the menu pic lol.

I spent less than 2k on flight, food, cab, etc.. would've been more if I stayed at a hotel.

I stayed in a location in Abu Dhabi where there were a lot of teachers from other countries.

It was hard to tell at first because they avoid eye contact due to their laws but in the club and the lounges its like the rules dont exist.

I have a gf, who has friends who are on this forum. I didnt do any x rated stiff. but i did see things I didnt expect like **** throwing ***** for the right $$$. if you're into that it dont cost much. one Ethiopian told me i could take her and her friend home for the night and it would only cost 800AED or $200. **** is a complete turn off, even if i didnt have a gf i dont think i'd be paying for it. there was a lot of N_ in the building tho  .. to get a local Emirate chick is tough but from what i heard they are about that life. they love black dudes and dont mind being a side chick. my boy's wife told me about her friend who is a certified side chick. a friend of my boy shpwed me a pic and :wow: . You can cosign later.
