San Diego is on Fire AGAIN

hope my san diego people are all ok. Evacuations notices have been issued in Carlsbad already. A total of 6 major fires and possibly a couple more have just been reported in mission valley

Hope it's not as crazy as it was in 07
 
Maaaan.. Northern SD stays catching on fire. You'd think they'd have learned by now. I remember classes getting canceled when I was going to SDSU

You guys really just don't understand how it works...You just have to experience it and really know what goes down

Of course we don't want lives to be taken

Here's one more, the fire was catching up to us too quickly while we were digging line, had to call in a bull dozer to make an escape route for us

The adrenaline sure feels awesome

The smoke smells soo good too! (we call it the smell of money) But irritates the hell out of your eyes and throat

Normally we PREFER fighting fire in remote areas, obviously don't want residents to lose their home and lives

Do I want it to be a good fire season? Yes, I can assure you that all firefighters do, we want to get paid, and LOVE the job..hell some people will even volunteer. Myself, along with many of my brothers would do it for free

We never want to lose lives, whether it's on the line, a resident, or if it destroyed their home. Hell, we sometimes cry and gt emotional whenever these things happen.

I guess I get what he means. But it seems like it affects his work, IDK.

I mean, for me anyways, I love to see some action. I don't want it to rain, I want it to storm.

If it's a hurricane, I wanna see a category 5.

Tornado? F-5, 1/2 mile wide.

Who doesn't wanna see that?

That's the way they think though. Cops think the same way. They put their lives in danger but at the same time, danger leads to overtime and those checks are huge.

It isn't right but it isn't wrong either. It could be worse, they could be lawyers or crooks on Wall Street.

Do fires just happen in Cali? Is it because of the heat?

I'm from New York, so I don't really know how this works. Worst we might get is some hail

For CalFire like it or not, this is cha ching.

And I know there are dudes at a staging area somewhere playing cards collecting a paycheck, I remember Yosemite last year........

Every year like clockwork. Lots of dry brush, dry heat and winds makes for a combustible combo.
