How can NBA fix the replay system?

fix may be wrong word. but improve. they can always find ways to improve it and make it better. i just want them to have another guy focused at looking at replays so they can speed up the gm
end of gms can drag so long
refs gather, they call for a review, waits for tv to be set, security surrounds them, rewind and play for a minute or two, get together, make a decision
why not have a guy sitting courtside and all it would take is him looking at the replay and make a quick decision

i can deal with balls/strikes in baseball and umps having their own zone. but for most part they get the out/safe call correct, whether its fan interference, etc

The reason it seems much worse in basketball is because calls DIRECTLY lead to points.

So does a flag, or non flag on a touchdown. Or a phantom PI that leads to a FG.
So does a strike call, non call that leads to a home run. Or a safe/not safe call that leads to an extra runner scoring.

Again, people need to STOP with the NBA is the only one ****. Calls happen in every sport that leads to point. Just because the NBA has free throws, doesn't mean it's the only sport that affects points.

Tell that to batters that faced Maddux and Glavine called strikes 3 feet outside the box.
Or that kid that lost a perfect game on a safe call by the first base ump.
Or the 1987 World Series.
Or the kid in Yankee stadium that caught the home run ball.

But hey, NBA.

Maddux
Easy to be labeled a great control pitcher when anything between the batter's boxes are strikes

Exactly.

Who was the guy......was it Livan Hernandez a few years back against the Braves, that was throwing CALLED strikes in the left handed batters box to right handed hitters?   In a playoff game no less I think it was.

@Proshares can you confirm that?

Yes, there are blown calls in every sport.  I respect your opinions a great deal, but I truly am baffled by your stance in this discussion.  My opinion of basketball having far more blown/missed calls than any other sport has to do primarily with the speed of the game, not the incompetence of the officials.  I really dont see this as being even close.  But if you truly believe that there are just as many missed/blown calls in other sports as there are in the NBA, we are simply going to have to agree to disagree.

Fair enough, but you can watch tape of any football game, and there are holds, handfighting, etc every single play. Corners grab on receivers, receivers grab on corners, etc etc. Nowadays, certain hits, all kinds of calls, every game.

Never knew why CP puts on the cap so bad. Blame the NBA for trotting out and protecting **** refs and never getting out in front of the issue. Its like worse than saying star wars or fast and the furious suck

Because you guys get caught up in this garbage EVERY, year.

And you forget, EVERY OTHER SPORT has the same problems each year as well.

You guys whine about the refs no matter what happens. I've showed so many times how a team shoots fewer free throws, yet still wins. Or gets jobbed by a call, and still gets the W. You literally, JUST SAW IT, with OKC. They got screwed over somethin fierce. Blake running his man 20 feet under the basket without a call. Reggie going up, and not having a foul called. Those were missed calls, AGAINST OKC, and they still got the job done.

Yet, you still cry "refs, refs, refs, refs" **** that. Blame CP3, Doc Rivers, DeAndre Jordan, etc for not doing their jobs better, not 3 random old dudes with whistles.

You guys never ******* stop.

Oh, the NBA WANTED the Clippers to win in the first round, so no call on Steph, and NOW they want the Clippers to lose, so let's do this ____. What a bunch of sheep you guys are constantly pissing and crying over the dumbest conspiracy theories. :smh:

I'll ask all of you in here.

What do you call The Tuck Rule?
Or the Steelers/Seahawks Super Bowl?
How bout the Hail Mary game with GB/Seattle?
The Carolina win vs NE this year on the final play?

Or this gem I have here?

See this? This was called a Touchdown. Look at the ref. Lookin right at it. Dolphin home game, so not swayed by home crowd or anything.

This play was reviewed, and upheld, TD. He doesn't even have the ball 3 yards from the goalline.

Again, everyone (during the NBA playoffs) wants to "fix" the NBA, fix reviews, fix the product, etc etc, but I don't see complaints about other sports with the exact same mistakes made.

I find that strange.

Another factor is in the NBA, the players actually TRY to create calls. Baseball players don't try to have close calls. NFL players try to avoid refs seeing what they do, outside a flopping QB begging for a flag.

The NBA, as a sport has players WANT to get calls from refs. Create contact to get fouls on opponents, or get free throws. That isn't on the league, the refs, or a conspiracy. That's on the players you love to root for. The greats of the game. Bron, KD, Kobe, CP3, Dwight, Blake Griffin, Harden, all TRY to get whistles.

And you guys ***** and whine about the refs and league office. :smh:

^I'm surprised it took that long for him to come up. That entire situation legitimized "complaints".

Anyways...
It took the NBA long enough:
@IraHeatBeat Just been informed the NBA WILL have a centralized replay center for next season's games. So these playoffs last games with on-site review.
Finally...a step in the right direction.

Much better than "shut up and deal with it."
