Fast food workers protest for $15 minimum wage.

In my opinion they don't deserve to make $15 an hr. Yeah this might say a bit stubborn, but they work there by choice. If you want a higher paying job you should have gone to college. I understand that some people aren't able to afford college, but there are things like financial aid and student loans that help people pay for college. I mean do you guys think people flipping burgers should get paid that much? That's just my position on the topic.

I think some CEO bashing is unwarranted.

You lead a company values at $1 billion... $100 per share...

If the ceo gets the price up to $120...

Means the company is valued at 1.2 billion...

He essentially added $200M in value to the shareholders...

Its wrong for him to get 1-5% of that?

I mean... He IS THE Leader...

there are some companies that are well likes machines.. but they got there due to good management
What makes $10-12 an hour legit? How did you come up with this number?

Poverty rate I believe is under 11 an hour from what I heard on the news. Not sure if that is for a single person I would wonder what the rate would be for a household.

But why stop there? Why not make the minimum wage $22 an hour?

That would be enough to supercharge inflation. In reality there is no magic number. The key to economic stability is a healthy middle class. Currently the middle class is splitting. Why? In my opinion and what history has told me is to pay attention to tax rates and what people are getting from their government. We need strengthened social programs. People have this horrible stigma about the government and their programs but people are more in need of social care now than other. We need a system in place that protects our future and our future are the kids. To have healthy child development the kids are going to need stable households and finances are a big factor in creating a stable household. The key to a stable economy is in our middle class and with current trends people are either going to go up or down, we are living in a generation were people may be worse off than their parents.

I agree with everything you just stated here. However, the word I bolded is not the fault of the CEOs. They are not in control of the money supply and its value. Which is why I think the anger is directed at the wrong individuals.

They aren't, they just like everyone else just uses the elements to work in their favor.

The middle class is the key but the issue lies in defining what the middle class is. According to certain data, u have to make upwards to around $300k to be considered in the 1% in this current economy; does that mean that the household that brings in $299,999 are considered middle class? The term is being through around by analysts and articles but we really have no clear definition or range dollars wise. Does the middle class income start when you no longer qualify for the earned income tax credit or is there some other threshold that has to be passed?

CEOs is pointing at an individual which is in fare. The the entire corporate system which is at fault not just the head person. When people say CEOs they really mean the corporation entity. Corporations can have a control when it comes to money supply by having company policies that can create price ceilings for certain labor

There is no dollar value to define the middle class it would be easier to define with a percentage of the population or even what the person has. Middle class people are to an extent dependent on public social systems so people who are dependent on public education could be defined as middle class

that system when done by central planners would make it worse. word to the years we've been at war on ____________.

I'm asking for us to strengthen our social programs and government spending on public usage not war. This is why America were better off in the past. We need more tax revenue to strengthen the middle class. The current system is literally killing the middle class. Look at tax rates every time our economy is down tax rates are low for top percent

your post just blew my mind with the statist talk. i never said anything about war. i meant the programs that was supposed to fight for a cause, like war on poverty. it never works cause central planners main goal isnt to fix things, its to make things worse and blame it on xyz so that they can grow and expand the program.

I'm defintely intrigued as to why tipping at a restaurant is cool, but at a fast food spot where you eat in isn't.

There is a distinct difference in the work and wages.

Eating in at fast food the cashier turns around picks up the food, turns back around, and hands it to you. end of service. You get your own drinks, refilled, seat yourself, and throw away your food when you finish.

At a restaurant, an individual seats you, takes your order, refills your drinks, and checks on you throughout continuing to provide service. Afterwards your waiter often times clears your table, if not a busboy your waiter likely shares tips with does.

In almost all cases the waiter's minimum wage is far below the fast food workers because of the tips. In exchange the waiter is expected to track and pay taxes on those tips, something the waiter doesn't have to do.

You one of NTs finest that refuses to tip?

Glad you neglected every other aspect of service there and the difference in paid wages between the two.

I tip... but I in no way feel that I have to or should due to how much they make....

People sleep on those mcdonalds jobs.

You have to be ablle to prepare the burger packages, add extra big mac sauce if the customer requests it. Fulfill multiple orders, multi task at the drive through, work the register...all while people condescend on you and wonder why you're a pathetic dumb dumb who cant get a better job.

Then god forbid if your manager asks you to clean the bathrooms or wipe down the tables take out the trash etc.

Yah, they're definitely lazy workers.
