Nike Hyperposite 2 2014

Why does Nike purposely give us crap colorways of a this dope Hyperposite and then act befuddled when they don't sell?

Even simple TB colors would move quicker than these butt nugget colorways they give us.

any simple combo of black, red or white . . . i would have bought on release day at the full $225 retail.

these colorways are absolutely horrendous.

also not thrilled about the switch from air max to zoom max. i liked the lebron 8 cushioning a lot more than the lebron X cushioning.

nike.com now carrying the same three colorways as eastbay.com.

this model seems to have no buzz whatsoever. what an underwhelming release after such a long wait.

anybody here playing ball in the hyperposite 2 yet? thoughts?

Looks like Nike is treating the hyperpoite 2's  the same way they treated the first run of hyperposites.  Wack colorways! Release some some of those P.E.'s. Smh....so much wasted potential

Sure these are beast like the Lebron 10 but what is Nike thinking with these stupid colorways and that pricepoint for a non signature shoe? A shoe you can most def wait on because no question they will go on sale....

honestly i dont ike the stiffness in em. altho it was just me walking around in them to test em. but theyre SO stiff i couldnt really bend them while putting real force with my hands. trying to bend em in half with one hand on the nose and one hand at the heel was extremely hard. like, hands starting to tremble and they bent maybe 15 degrees hard. WAY too stiff

Does anyone in Houston,TX know of a store that's carrying these? Can't find them anywhere.

Ordered the Rough Green colorway from Eastbay, 20% off $200+ promo knocked it down to $187. Delivery estimated for Wednesday.

Went true to size, fingers crossed.

I hear great things about full-length visible zoom, mainly from the Lebron X.

Has anybody played in these?

nope. i havent even SEEN anyone with them. the pricepoint is just terrible. way too high. They cost more than the current lebron, which is 2 generations AFTER the shoe the hyperposite is modeled after. not to mention the lebron is nike's most expensive signature line. how can u be more expensive than the current most expensive shoe that came 2 years after the one ur modeled after?

I know, seems like this shoe is being boycotted. No one has these. Haha

Yeah, they're pricey, but so are foamposites/penny's, and they're sporting performance tech from the mid 90's.. no excuse there.

A little off topic but look at Jordan Retro's.. makes no sense, in my opinion, to pay for not only for old tech, or possibly lack thereof, but also lesser quality.

I judge a shoe's price point on tech.. being that the hyperposite uses a foamposite upper and full-length visible zoom, internal bootie.. $225 is about right based on the market, $187 is more than reasonable for me.

im glad ur ok with it. because honestly i was mad i had to pay 180 for the lebron Xs when they were out. its simply too much for a shoe. 180 is too much for a shoe no matter whats in it. Because at the end of the day, its less than $50 in materials and labor. Its something you know ur getting ripped off on but find reasons to make the purchase, however with them raising the price to this level? its flat out disrespect. and they dont even give u good colorways at that price!? easy pass. the steve nashiest of no look passes til the price drops significantly

The retail price is about right in the current market

Full lengrh Zoom Max and Hyperposite is more tech than the Lebron X and the Lebron XII

stop. 40k for a fully loaded kia optima is about right in the current market. the tech inside the car is on par with everything else nowadays. but no matter how u slice it... its 40k for a kia. the same theory applies here. as long as you okay it, nike will continue to raise their astronomical prices. if u think hyperposite (which is the only differentiating feature from MANY of nikes shoes) is worth this much money... then you need to buy everyone in their marketing team a couple of rounds at the bar

It doesn't seem too inconceivable that Nike has raised prices..

About 20 years ago the first Foamposite(Penny's) retailed for $180 and a pair of Total Uptempo Max(Reggie Miller's) retailed for $160.. that was 20 years ago, we can't possibly expect to be paying the same prices as we did 20 years later. That's 2 decades of consistent growth, advancing and innovating the whole way.

No matter how you slice it, prices go up. It's all about the market and supply and demand, it's nothing personal, it's just business. Nobody is holding a gun to our heads, it's just a shoe.. nobody really "needs" anything other than food and water, so if you "want" to pay $225 for a Nike basketball sneaker or $40k for a fully loaded Kia Optima, then it's entirely up to you as a consumer to make a decision.. I'm just here because I want to know how the shoe fits.

But again, it's just business, it's not meant to be taken personally. And let's not forget our place, we're all registered members to a blog called "NikeTalk".. they have us right where they want us. Complaining about work while you're on the clock is pointless.

Nobody is boycotting the shoe. They just don't like it especially for the price.

That is a GREAT thing for anyone whom actually likes this shoe since it means below retails for 99% of the colors that will release.

The ultimate shoe lovers dream:
Below retail purchases
That exclusive look since nobody else is really going to be wearing them
Ease of purchase

u nailed it bigj. and i actually really like the shoe! especially if it performs like the lebron x. but seeing that price on ANY shoe is a deterrent for me. yes, we dont have  to buy it...and thats precisely why this shoe is sitting on shelves across america. the problem/conundrum is... thats why nike barely supports the hyperposite line. they say theres not enough interest/support for it. well no ****! In marketing and business, everyone knows you have to hit the sweet spot on pricing. Too low and you eat profit but everyone will buy it. Just right and youll break even. You want to price it in a way to make a profit, but not to ostracize your target market. you will not sell $225 sneakers (that aren't retroed jordans) to people aged 16-30 easily. it just wont happen. Especially if u didnt even try to make an attractive colorway or anything. Its almost like theyre liquidating the line but instead of dropping the price to get rid of it, theyre trying to scrape together every penny they can get out of those willin to pay. i dont understand what theyre trying to do

Yea , nike's intentions behind this sneaker is questionable. I really like this sneaker , but to echo everyone else that price is too high. I most def will be on the lookout once they go massively under retail.

To be honest I think they are missing their market. This looks like the perfect big man shoe but they only make it up to size 14. It seems like all the nba players who wear it are big guys. I would call it the brow 1 and release it up to size 18 like their team models.
