OFFICIAL 2014 LA CLIPPERS OFFSEASON THREAD -- Ballmer Sale Final!

1. Back up big (either stretch or someone that can rebound and bang) [X] Spencer Hawes 4 years/23Mil
2. Back up PG
3. Defensive stopper (preferably at the 3)

first thing on the list check. Don't mind the signing. What's next?

Farmar would be a good back up pg and he's cheap.

Defensive stopper? Trevor Ariza. Let's bring him back to the west coast

Looks like Farmar's in. I'm ok with that. But we still need to figure out SF and get some more interior toughness.

Like getting Hawes for the MLE as he fills a need and we got him at below market value. He can also play with both DJ and Blake, which is really valuable.

And getting Farmer with the BAE is the exact reason why I was coo with letting DC get his money. Backup PGs are relatively easy to replace.

Neither Hawes or Farmer bring the type of defensive we need, but what we got them for, you can't complain.

Now for the love of God Doc please don't screw this up by S&T Hawes just so you can over play for PP. We got enough dudes who need shots/ball in their hands. Time to get long defensive minded players.

2. Back up PG [X] Jordan Farmar 2 years/4.2Mil
3. Defensive stopper (preferably at the 3)

I'm with PAIDNFULL23, I'm only glad with the signings so far because we didn't overpay and got serviceable players. As far as a 3 goes, I would prefer Ariza/Deng over Truth but we shall see what happens. So far...not too bad.

Pierce to DC, Ariza to Houston and Deng looks like his on his way to Miami. Not sure we're going to able to upgrade at SF now.

Guys don't trip, we need another 6'5 SG before we need a SF. I heard Ray Allen is available

Nah but seriously I wonder if we can get Marion for the min or Wilson Chandler in a trade from DEN. They fill needs (defense and rebounding) better than PP anyway.

Depth Chart so far

PG - CP3, Farmar
SG - JJ, Craw, Wilcox
SF - Barnes, Dud, Bullock
PF - Blake
C - DJ, Hawes

Don`t think Baby has signed anywhere yet. I`d take him back as Blake`s back up. Not sure what SFs are still out there.

Glen "Big Baby" Davis is staying with the Clippers on a one-year deal according to the LA Times' @BA_Turner

I'm cool with this. I like Baby. Not the best defender, but he can rebound and score pretty well. (Not to mention we were running out of options).

got no problem with this either. especially if he brings a better attitude since he knows what's expected of him.

I think Blake is fine. Reports are that he's been working out all summer. He's just sitting out for Team USA as a precaution.

Sale to Ballmer is complete. The NBA has approved. Good times lie ahead, fellas. :nthat:

Flying in from Oregon for the Clipper Fan Fest at Staples Center on Monday @ 12:30. Can't wait for the Fan's chance to meet new owner.

Might have to look into this Fan Fest thing. Sounds like it could be a nice event.

Ok, now I feel it's safe to rejoice

I think its safe. I'm sure DTS is not going to just go away, but the chances of him being able to get the sale undone are extremely thin. And now he'll have Ballmer and the NBA to deal with too and not just his wife. Basically, he'll continue to be an irritant, but shouldn't be a major problem anymore.

Fan Fest sounds legit. How many "long time fans" gonna show up there? LOL. :rolleyes

#ItsANewDay :smokin

Wish the fanfest was this Friday since I'm going to be at Staples that day anyway, but I might make a return visit on Monday. Honestly, this an probably is the biggest moment in franchise history.

Pretty sure I'm going to go on Monday. If anyone else is going, let me know. A beer on me. Serious.
