Long term effects of LASIK

I have a serious eye condition that has me travelling from toronto to the boston foundation for sight every 1-1.5 years. Ive been getting treatment there since 2006, and every visit i have to be seen at clinic for about a week. Each time i have been there, ive met people from all over the world who have messed up their vision through complications of lasik. Ive met people who have had "perfect" vision anywhere from 7 to 15 years until one day they wake up and their vision is distorted and they are experiencing all types of pain and discomfort. ive even consoled people on a couple of occasions who were crying uncontrollably feeling terrible that their lives were gonna be permanently altered because of an elective procedure that they chose to go through. I know people are just gonna do what they want, but be prepared to live with the consequences even if it much much later down the road.

:nerd:

I'm considering getting this done myself. Any recommendations about Doctors in the DMV area?

Lasik was one of the best decisions i ever made.

I use to wear glasses since i was ten years old and then started wearing contacts which i think made things worse.

I went to Doctor Ken Moadel, some of his patients were Edwar Ramirez and Bernie Williams who i think til this day has not worn glasses. He's a good doctor i truly recommend him if you're from NY. Before i got lasik i went two years before and he told me to comeback two years later and it all worked out.

Every morning i would wake up not being able to see what time it was, the alarm clock was next to my bed too.

All i remember waking up the next morning after lasik eye surgery was hoping i could see what time it was before i open my eyes.

I opened them and clearly saw it was 7AM.

I still remember that day for me :smokin. Only I don't have an alarm clock it was the time on the cable box I was looking at.

I got PRK done maybe 3 years ago. Besides the healing process which was painful because i had weak pain medication. Im happy with the results, can see very clear now. I do have a slight halo effect as well but it really doesnt bother me.

in for this someday as well, hate procedures of any kind though

I had the lasik surgery last august and im happy i dont have to wear glasses or contacts anymore. I just wear sunglasses now. I had it done at CCRS in LA for $2800. It was suppose to be $3000 but i got the $200 fouseytube discount because fouseytube was there and i chopped it up with him for a bit.

Contacts are slightly annoying, but I'm not feeling eye surgery.
I can only imagine how good it would feel to have 20/20.

still waitting on it.

might wait 2 more years to make sure my vision stabilizes.

I need to read up on the other type of surgeries. My eyesight is terrible. Maybe in a few years i'll look into it.
