NFL Discussion Thread: Pats win SB XLIX. Offseason begins

He's in the NFL alcohol program so Im guessing hes supposed to stay sober at all times. He probably drank some beers earlier this year and was randomly tested a short time afterwards.
Man, I would have thought Prater hit a person with his car in 2011 to be on such a short leash for 3 years. Having a few beers in your house and the NFL wanted to suspend him for the entire season? I would have rather been suspended back in 2011 than be kept on a short leash for several years down the line. I mean, he's not allowed to have any beers in his own house on vacation? There's something wrong with that

Here's the timeline for detecting alcohol in a person's system:

Breathalyzer Test: Up to 24 hours.
Urine Test: 3-5 days via Ethyl Gluconoride (EGT) metabolite or 10-12 hours via traditional method
Blood Test: 12 hours`
Saliva Test: 1-5 days

I'm eliminating the hair sample method, because if the NFL used hair samples for tests (accurate to 90 days, or the lifespan of the strand of hair), they would have to suspend 2/3rds of the league for pretty much everything. They don't use hair samples. They know better.

No matter what, it's insane. He wasn't arrested for a DUI. He literally drank, and tested positive for what can't be more than a trace amount of alcohol. And he gets suspended more than the guy who beat the **** out of his wife on camera.

:smh:

That Rice ruling smashed their credibility with future suspensions and rulings

Another shot Roger :smokin

I just saw the video of Welker getting hit. I didn't think it was really THAT bad. Welker is already a ****** and he ducked down so there was really nothing Swearinger could do at that point in mid tackle.

The 49ers' field apparently had to be torn up on Friday, players were almost getting injured because it was so bad

Apparently it's only "a quick fix" so let's hope nobody gets injured in today's game (9ers vs. Chargers)

With today's technology how is it even possible to have a ****** field outside of the elements causing the problem?

Apparently it was the soil (which still hasn't been replaced, just the sod). Either way, I'd almost rather them just cancel the damn game than see someone go down because of this.

If only Dallas would have drafted money manziel and that circus show could unfolded in big d..

At first I was thinking both the Giants and Skins would be ahead of the Cowboys. But both teams have MAJOR question marks on the O-Line and their QB's are in new systems. Could be a recipe for disaster for both teams. At least we know the Cowboys offense will cook provided Romo doesn't get hurt. Shoes may be right in his two team race prediction :nerd:
