All that and I'm still trying to figure why he's better than Lavonte David.
Let's do this, brotha. You want to throw out tackling numbers, that's fine. That particular statistic aside, Kuechly is the surer tackler. I don't think even the strongest Lavonte David supporter would argue against that point. Kuechly has better instincts and higher motor. I could make a case he's a better team leader defensively. David has shown lapses in judgement and concentration on the field, like the late-hit on Geno I referenced last season.

Where does David have Kuechly beat? Rangier, more athletic. Although Luke is deceptively athletic, don't let pigmentation fool you. Lavonte is better pressuring and getting after the QB. More reliable in coverage, makes plays in that regard, forcing turnovers. He's really the second-coming of Derrick Brooks to the pleasure of loyal Tampa fans.

Healthy Cush > Luke

Willis > Luke

Behind Watt Earl is the 2nd beat defensive player in the game.

Haven't seen enough of EB.

The Seattle defense is built around Earl. Esp when they drop 4 DEs in their packages and force you to make a decision againest him.

I wanted him in that draft so ******* bad man, only 6 picks away :smh: :smh:
P-Willy is an energetic player but still doesn't have the motor Kuechly possesses. Luke is better in coverage than Willis.

I know you said healthy and Cush is a Bergen County guy, but he doesn't stay on the field enough to truly challenge Kuechly.

I rank Luke over ET, but I can entertain and hear out why Thomas is more valuable or better defensively than Kuechly.

Definitely had me wrong out of all the Texas DB's and safeties in particular. Believed Griffin would have the better career than ET. Some of the angles Thomas took at Texas were questionable.

EB and Byrd are not far behind ET. Byrd is every bit the ball hawk Thomas is. He's poised for an opportunistic year under Rob Ryan in NOLA. Now that he's healthy and paid.

Where does AJ Hawk rank on those lists? I'm asking for a friend
Hawk had his best year since his rookie season. Will probably never play well enough to validate his high draft slot, fifth overall. But a sure tackler in his own right.

There is not one single thing Kuechly is better at on the football field than Lavonte.

Lavonte and McCoy are both top 10 defensive players by the way.
Post your top-10. I'd like to discuss this matter with you.

Who the **** is Reid Foster?
Part of me believes he wrote the article for exposure and viewership.

That '15 first-round pick could be the top selection in the entire draft. Very valuable to Cleveland's growth and ability to possibly jump the Steelers, Ravens, and Bengals in the AFC North.

BRUH. The Eagles TRADED UP in that draft, Earl was right there and everyone and their mother thought we were taking him especially since we were in dire need of a safety. And what did the eagles do? They took Brandon ******* Graham. Words cannot describe how angry I was at that moment.

I'll be honest, I preferred JPP or Morgan to Graham and ET.

 people were shocked Pete didn't take Taylor Mays

A little late but I like that OAK started David Carr. The only thing is he probably got one of the worst match-ups for his first NFL start going against Rex Ryan

.

The Giants opened as five point under dog vs Lions, can't really argue with that.  I actually like how D matches up against their Offense with our secondary pieces, and I'm excited about J.Williams coverage skills at the LB spot. But, on the flip side the Lions interior D-line could be devastating against our weak interior O-line.

Earl Thomas was a significantly better DB at UT his time there than Michael Griffin was. And Griffin was playing alongside all Americans.

LaRon Landry syndrome. Looks the part of a football player, doesn't perform like it.

Taylor was just an unguided missile.
Lacks discipline.

Same here  I was thinking the Texans would draft him over Cushing for awhile. Seems like now, Mays is lucky to even be in the league
May have found his niche with Cincy. Lewis is redemption island.

wonder if Mays wouldve worked out if he switch to LB like Thomas Davis did.
Saved his career.

Still some overrated bums
Who got lucky
Not mentioned helped by the refs
We bout to lay the smack down this season
And put em in their place
We gonna let me know who REALLY runs the NFC west

Your team is dying* :smh: though

Top-50 or top-100 defensive players list coming for NT this week. Thank you to everyone who contributed their top-10 to stimulate intellectual thought and debate.

I rank it:
ET
EB
Byrd
Chancellor
Weddle
Polamalu
D-Mac

That's off the top. Sure I'm missing a big name somewhere in there. Will revisit with more time.
