My issue with the Rice case was that it took seeing the video to decide he needed to be suspended indefinitely? He admitted to hitting her, why did we need video footage to prompt the NFL to get rid of him?

Rice tried to spin it as self defense, when clearly it wasn't. Seeing is believing.

yeah man i mean he basically admitted to knocking out his wife and was shown dragging her out of an elevator

neither the ravens nor goodell are the good guys here today

Public outcry. That's what it is. No way you can tell me that the Ravens brass or the league wasn't privy to this video. There's just no way.
Even if they didn't see it... They could have found SOMEONE who did and would be able to tell them "yea your boy Ray really ****** up in there".

He straight up put her to sleep with a left hook and then stood there like "damn now what imma do with this body?" instead of looking to help her and show remorse.

Any person who see's that video should come to the same conclusion... There wasn't much there to lead someone in a different direction.

Lmao Hank why you so mad ? You in here defending Ray and justifying his actions based on the actions of his peers.

Tells me to grow up. Calls me a douche bag on a message board. The irony

Funny that Goodell still hasn't spoken about this yet. He's letting everybody else take the heat for this. That's a **** boy move.

Peter King, putting on a shield for the league in MMQB

They just threw his *** under the bus
LMAO what happened.
He's isnt really caping to be fair

but he's basically blaming himself for the article he wrote in which he was told (like everyone else) the league saw the tape months ago

I mean ****...loss prevention at Target is more through w/ their videotape reviews than the NFL/Ravens. :smh:

Apparently the Ravens rely on the honor system.

Ozzie Newsome - Ray, you kill that man?

Ray Lewis - Nope.

Ozzie Newsome - Good enough for me.

He can see if the dealership Gordon is working at is still hiring. Lol
*are still hiring*

made me laugh...i think he had it right with 'is'

I don't think he's done. Someone will give him another chance after this season. It'll be too much of a circus if someone tries to get him before the season is over though. Hell, Josh Brent can return later this year and killed someone.

at people who think he told his teammates and team officials the truth about what happened. with no inside vid of the elevator and no sound he probably told them a lie that had themfeeling sorry for him.

at the 49er liking criminals. Think you mean the Bengals. Dues hate the 49ers like they've won the last four SBs.
Browns have two other RBs that are good. They don't need Rice.

All this would have been avoided if Roger would have suspended Ray for 8-12 games. I hope Ray sues the NFL and gets money because this whole situation is BS. Ray definitely deserved more games but if he doesn't play again, it's BS.
Oh really?

Wait, so Ray Rice got cut and could possibly never play again in the NFL for beating his girlfriend. But Donte Stallworth can kill a man and still play?
It was an accident and paid millions to the family who thought that was good enough. The guy was culpable in his own death for running across a six lane highway.
it's usually an accident when people get hit by cars. dude was drunk. should have done a stretch in jail. you go hit someone in your car while drunk and think you'll get a break because you stick around and call the police.

tmz probably had the tape the whole time and was just waiting for nfl week one to start to release it

So, you been lurkin since 12 just to post some **** like this
eek.gif

TMZ don't sit on stories.

No self respecting journalist sits on a story like this for more then a day in fear of someone else beating you to the release.
We're not talking about cnn, it's tmz. And there's no doubt in my mind TMZ didn't just get this tape. **** yeah they waited. This isn't a story that can be broken by another news network. This was the tape that they bought and paid for. No one else had it.

it's more than "feminist groups"

but even if it was just feminist groups that you care to single out, would they be wrong?
its mostly feminist groups

and i dont like what you're implying
"mostly" - did you take a poll or something to come to the conclusion that it's mostly feminist groups who are being vocal about this? i don't see how you can make that claim, so all it is is basically an empty assumption put out there as a way to basically say "hey look at those people with their radical politics. they have an obvious agenda to pick"

no. any adult with a correct moral & ethical view on things can see what's wrong here, not just "feminist" groups

CRYIN!

I'm telling y'all Goodell throwing his weight around today.

Got ****** sweating bullets tryna explain themselves.

Damn.

Just watched ESPN and saw that video :smh:

Can't believe they dropped the hammer on Ray like that. Wether it's the right or wrong thing, who knows and at this point it just makes the league look foolish. There's no possible way they didn't have this video evidence before, now that it's gone public they decided to really punish him.

The only question I have is what can Ray do? Does he have a legit case to sue the NFL?

Even if they didn't see the video(they did), the police report should have included a play by play of the incident.

Yep the courts found the guy who got killed guilty for his own death...Dante just happened to have been drinking. He also beyond paid the price

Doubt it.  NFL's lawyers>>>>> Rays lawyers.

I don't think the NFLPA will want to back him just to back him like that.

Maryland is an At-Will Employment state which means if you work in MD, you can be fired for little to no reason at all from your employer.

Even if he did sue and somehow won... How much is that gonna matter?  Maybe he'll get a settlement for a few million?  NFL still comes out on top because no one in the league will sign him to a contract anyways.

Damn.
