The San Francisco 49ers have quarterback Colin Kaepernick signed deep into the future, but will Jim Harbaugh stick around to coach him?

That question remains unanswered, according to ProFootballTalk.

A source told the site that, while the 49ers have made an offer to the coach, Harbaugh has yet to respond.

Per the report, the sticking point remains Harbaugh's desire to be rewarded financially like a Super Bowl-winning coach -- despite not actually winning a Super Bowl.

Harbaugh, though, told reporters in March that "zero opportunity" exists for him to leave San Francisco before his contract runs out in 2016. He also insisted that he "never said to anybody that I want to be the highest-paid coach in football" following rumors that he was in play this winter to become coach of the Cleveland Browns.

Coming off three straight trips to the NFC title game, the 49ers have evolved into one of the NFL's most creative and consistent franchises.

Until Harbaugh signs a new deal, however, it's fair to question how long the good times will last.

:smh:

The Colts won two games with Curtis Painter at QB. Oakland won four games with Pryor/McGloin. Fitzpatrick sucks, but he's capable of winning a couple games a year. He did it with Buffalo and Tennessee.

People saying that Clowney needs to come out like Peppers must forget they have JJ ******* Watt on the other side. If he's half the player we think he is, he'll do work

I can't believe I'm standing up for the Houston Texans.
lol most fan bases want more than just a couple game a year. texans just planned poorly long term and got unlucky. but is it not unfeasible that they don't make the playoffs for another 5 years?

iv'e said this too many times but the only thing the texans have going for them are watt, who is going to get paid like crazy, maybe clowney, and that they play the jags twice a year

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has not yet handed down discipline to Colts owner Jim Irsay, who was arrested and currently faces charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. But there’s an expectation around the league that when Goodell does act, he’ll suspend Irsay for about half a season.

That’s the word from Adam Schefter of ESPN, who reported that people around the league believe Goodell will give Irsay a suspension of six to eight games and a fine of about $1 million.

Panthers won last year because they had Cam Newton, decent RBs, no WRs, no talent in the secondary, and the best front 7 in the league.

This year they have Cam Newton, decent RBs, no WRs, no talent in the secondary, and the best front 7 in the league.

I don't see the precipitous decline.

And Steve Smith was already washed last year, he's going to be 2013 ed reed esque on the ravens.

I'm late, but repped && quoted for infinite emphasis. People acting like this is '05 Triple Crown Smitty that got cut, when the truth is our greatest loss in the offseason was a former #1 WR who gained 745 yards last year . He's my favorite player of all time, but it's clear as day that his name outweighs the production at this point. Some just don't understand tho...but yea, we'll be just fine this season.
