Arian Foster Is Very Committed to 'Be the Best Teammate He Can Be'

Most professional athletes do a solid job of answering media questions vaguely while still providing some good tidbits of information. Houston Texans running back Arian Foster, on the other hand, will dodge a question like no other. If he doesn't want to answer it, he will avoid it.

Foster missed two straight practices this week because of an injury. On Wednesday, he was back on the field and practicing with his teammates.

After practice, everyone wanted to know what Foster's current situation was. According to CSNHouston.com's Dave Zangaro, Foster spoke to reporters for approximately 90 seconds. He wasn't too creative with his answers.

Here's a transcript, via Zangaro, of Foster's media session:

Question: How do you feel? Were you 100 percent out there today?

Foster: I’m just out here trying to be the best teammate I can be and I’m gonna work hard at doing that.

Q: Physically, you’re good to go?

F: I’m just trying to be the best teammate I can be, man.

Q: Arian, can you tell us exactly what kept you out, what was going on?

F: Yeah, man. I’m just trying to be the best teammate I can be, you know. I’m gonna work hard at doing that.

Q: What was physically wrong with you?

F: Yeah, I’m just out here, working hard every single day, trying to be the best teammate I can be.

Q: What did it mean to be able to get back out here and start working, Arian? And get back with your teammates?

F: You know, being with your teammates and being the best teammate you can be is what you strive to do. So that’s what I’m out here for.

Q: Your teammates talk about how they want to see you out here. They know what you mean to this ballclub. What does all that stuff mean to you, Arian?

F: Yeah, man. I’m just (trying) to be the best teammate you can be, man. Just work hard at doing that every single day. That’s what we’re out here trying to do.

Q: Is your body starting to break down?

F: Yeah, man. I’m just out here trying to be the best teammate I can be. And I’m gonna work hard at doing that.

Q: How’s that coming, Arian, your progress with being a better teammate?

F: Yeah, you know, I’m just, every single day, just trying to be a better teammate, man.

Q: What do you think about these fans going crazy for you guys?

F: Yeah, man. I’m just out here trying to be the best teammate I can be. And I’m going to continue doing that.

Q: Is there any difference in the way you felt physically, feel stronger?

F: Yeah, man. I’m just out here trying to be the best teammate I can be. And I’m just going to continue to do that.

Q: What was the offseason like, working at your brother’s facility, different than other previous seasons?

F: Yeah, just every single day, man, just working hard, trying to be the best teammate I can be.

Reporter: You got that down.

Foster: Thank you.

Reporter: You’re welcome.

Foster: Y’all take care.

In case you didn't hear him the first time, Foster just wants to be a good teammate.

Dont wait till week 7 to bring it up either Jay. We can bet on the Diplomats winning by 40 pts or the Diplomats actually scoring 40 pts, whichever one makes you comfortable.

I'm going to go with putting up 40. Y'all should be able to put 20 on our d.

I'll go 41-27 skins :pimp:

I'll be here all year.

And I'm dead serious.

The cowboys D ain't gonna be nothing this year. I don't see why the skins and a few other teams won't put 40 on them this year.

What have they done to get better?

People want to look at last years Skins team and what to believe that they really are a 3-13 squad. Trust me you guys a very wrong. A WHOLE lot of stuff was going on last year.

The Skins will be a much better football team this year and I'm not saying that just because I'm a fan. Only Challenge in the East is the eagles.

IDK bruh, I think the Giants are going to be legit this season too provided Eli isn't a total dumb *** again. Cowboys are clearly the worst IMO.

Might make my way to Dallas for that Houston game :smokin

romogawd owns texas though :nerd:

I never really count the Giants out because if Coughlin. I thinks he is a great coach. But I have to see a lot.

ESPN Stats & Info@ESPNStatsInfo 3m

LT Tyron Smith signed 8-yr extension for @dallascowboys. $40 million guaranteed is the most among OL & tied with Drew Brees for 12th in @NFL

Dez is probably my favorite WR in the league. What other weapons on their offense make them the best in the division? Witten is getting old and slow. Romo is solid but you have to worry about his back. What else makes them better than the other three teams?

Though we are not very optimistic, be honest: Do you think the Cowboys defense could possibly be any worse this year? Our defense last year was the third worst defense in NFL History.

Remember 40 first downs?

Remember Denver never punting?

Remember every QB throwing for 400+ yards for 7 games in a row creating highlight reels for decades?

The defense won't be good. But it will be better than last year just because its not humanly possible to get any worse than what it was last season. Rod is putting his magical "touch" on things this year, and its the second year under this scheme.

In all honesty, the Cowboys season is dependent upon Romo's back. Scott Linehan and Garrett have the same mindset so the notion that we will run the ball more needs to cease. We will still be in shotgun, empty back field, 5 WR formation on 3rd and 2.

Based off last season, it is not far fetched to assume the Eagles would be the favorites to come out of the east with the ******** in second, while the GIants and Cowboys follow up in the bottom. However, as stated before, the Cowboys defense can't possibly be any worse than last season and the fact that everyone is picking the Cowboys to finish last (for once) may be a good thing.

My prediction remains the ******** only because that's who the Cowboys play in week 17, and based on history, we've all seen this same song and dance before.

But the NFC East is always a toss up/dog fight.

Lastly, the NFC East has always had a different division winner since 2006.

I think the defense will be worse than last year's. Lee and Ware were the two best players and leaders on that team.

I anticipate a Cowboy fan responding by he was old or hurt

No, rather anyone that pays attention to the Cowboys, fan or not, would realize that the Cowboys defense was third worst in NFL history with Sean Lee and Ware on the field.

Some people also fail to realize that Sean Lee has never played more than 8 games in a season. What are we really missing? In years prior, he would go down midseason and we'd have to rely on guys like Ernie Sims and Bruce Carter to be the "QB" of the defense. Sean Lee was going to get injured at some point during the season as he does every year. It was more of a blessing to lose him In May, where the Cowboys can actually prepare for life without Lee instead of losing him mid season like years past.

But hey, it's the offseason; the most opportune time for speculation.
