And you have to give green his due for longevity and what he did at what 5'8 or so

Rod Woodson will always be my top 5 favorite players ever. Seems like he's always been severely underrated. Not sure why, maybe because the era he played in? Regardless he's a hall of famer and easily one of the top 10 cbs ever. Other than Ronnie Lott, who played both CB and safety as good as Woodson? I remember him on NFL Network saying unlike Deion he would hit the ball carrier.

91 eagles defense.. Led the league by a wide margin in pretty much every defense category.. Put up historical numbers in those categories.. 5 members of the defense went to the pro bowl, 3 from the defensive line..

And they literally had no offense.. Randall Cunningham was out for the season the 1st game.. The team went through 6 starting QBs

And somehow still won 10 games.. In a division where the giants won the Super Bowl the year before, Washington that year and Dallas the year after

In today's nfl.. I'm taking rod over any other DB

Where a cb has to be able to cover everyone.. And come up in run support.. And if you're liability in either area teams are going to pick on that.. They have to cover WRs, RBs and TEs

You got guys like calvin Johnson, aj green and fitz.. Then you got burners

Rod may not have been the our cover guy that Deion was (and obviously no one is).. But Deion had no where near the versatility that rod had

Rod was a burner too (10.26 in the 100).. And had size 6 ft 205.. Dude didn't join the ravens til his 12th year in the league

Yes I know Rod was with Pitt before Baltimore.

I don't know about Andy Checkdown though its close. He's a better athlete so I'd lean in this direction.

I wasn't trying be funny.. Just looked at the names you posted and assumed you were young (or at least not old enough to fully appreciate would rod was doing in the 90s with Pitt). So I asked

Deion had the flash and the rings (and played for 2 extremely well liked teams.. But has 2 rings to Only 1 for rod).. But people have to remember how good and stacked that 49er team was and that cowboys team

Rod was dealing with Neil odonnell and slash when he was with Pitt.. Then trent dilfer in Baltimore.. Rich Gannon was probably the best QB dude had with that 02 raiders team
