I actually think the Chargers defense is gonna be pretty solid this year. They have the pieces. Tonight will be a good test against Fitz and Floyd.

Not surprised that would be your rebuttal.

Like I said, only the simple minded.

Because only simple-minded people look at the offense commited itself, and realize it's definitely okay to knock your woman out COLD, DRAG HER like she was some animal caught in the wild and only get a slap on the wrist.

Whereas getting caught smoking weeeeeeeedah, based on a decade+ old guidelines gets you banned for a year on your third offense.

Stay simple, my friend.

Um, who exactly is condoning what Rice did? All folks are saying is that you can't compare the two suspensions.

What Rice has going for him is that before this incident he had a VERY good reputation. That being said, I think EVERYONE agrees that 2 games is a joke. However, there is no domestic abuse suspension policy. Let's just hope that from this point forward, Goodell and the league taking things a tad big more seriously.

rules are rules

if this was some bum player no one would even care about Josh Gordon being an idiot

the two situations aren't comparable and I don't really see anyone saying what Ray Rice did was okay

 god not again. i almost hate what rice did more for the ridiculous logic (or lack of logic) it's creating in here

I didn't say anyone was condoning my friend.

If you look back two weeks ago, the same people in here comdemning Gordon's ban for smoking weed were totally okay with him getting a year ban, in the same breath saying Rice's suspension was quite fair compared to Gordon.

The fact of the matter is 75% of the NFL players smoke weed. Gordon just got caught doing it. The "rules are rules" argument is dumb when you look at the history of the NFL's verdicts made to those who smokes weed, and those who sexually abuse, violently abuse or down right kill someone.

But hey, if you guys are okay with it, who am I to say otherwise..

Look at the part in bold...how are you NOT saying that people are condoning what Rice did? You're CLEARLY insinuating that people think the 2 game suspension is OK.

As I pointed out, there is no domestic abuse policy with the league. If there is a silver-lining to this joke of a suspension, it's that things will be VERY different going forward for any player who puts their hands on a woman.

You clearly missed the part that came right after the part you bolded, where I was comparing the two....

But Josh will be back sooner than later, so I'm not really going to stress this anymore..

goodell needs to step down for the benefit of everyone. this recent blunder really should be the nail in the coffin for him

Glad he can laugh at that  that's all you really can do in his position
If this happens :wow: I wonder how long it'll take for someone to pick him up considering the issue he's dealing with

See Chad Johnson/ Terell Owens.

If they do indeed release him, he's DONE.

I don't even think the CFL would touch dude.

Ray Rice is protected by that 2 game suspension. League can't give a suspension on top of a suspension. In addition, the Ravens can't cut ties with him either. You best believe that Rice and his camp will sue the league if his contract is terminated or if there is an additional penalty levied against him.

They can definatly cut him, pay him his gurantee or go after the money with "conduct detrimental to the team"

Ray rice getting a very favorable and light suspension based off personal conduct has no correlation with Josh Gordon violating the league substance abuse policy multiple times. His suspension being light doesn't equate to Gordon's being wrong. And if Josh is let off that has no bearing on Rice either
