What I don't understand is why the NFL would protect Ray Rice in the first place?

What do they gain from hiding the video?

I was just thinking about this. Must've been more about the overall reputation of their players, not just Ray Rice.

Never understood the 2 games either, RG seem like he gets joy out of handing suspensions

didnt think he'd bother getting out of bed for 2 games

Now see
The nfl could have escaped all this
If they make disciplinary actions private
Like how at ur job the boss ain't suppose to tell everyone when u get written up or something like that
Or they shoulda just no commented when it first happened
Suspended him and then called it a day

Think so too...another higher up will take the fall but will be compensated nicely for the trouble.

Goddell making owners too much money for him to take the fall

This.

Lying about a tape isn't enough to get him fired.

The NFL is a machine and bullet proof.

Which is why Goddell is done. He's 100% replaceable. The owners are going to continue to generate billions in revenue without him.

Or maybe they think its not that serious
Or considered it a dispute with a dude and his fiancé and didn't wanna do anything since charges got dropped
Or there's more to the whole fight between him and his wife that we still don't know

I think Goddell survives this

Things like this cause advertisers to stop being associated with the league which will cause the owners to lose money.

It's the real reason they got rid of Sterling

BREAKING: AP Source: Law enforcement official sent copy of Ray Rice tape to NFL executive in April
Boom
Who actually believed they hadn't seen it? Another speed bump, but Rodger isn't going anywhere.

Question: Why does everyone want him gone?

I despise him for unfair punishments and unnecessary fines.
Whoever the lady was on the VM is gonna have to fall on the sword

Or rather be shoved on it
Or kicked down the well in Sparta.

Man, this probably the same info that TMZ was paid to keep quiet about. They'll pay some intern's student loans off, make her take the blame and keep this s*** moving.

Anything to protect the shield. Ray Rice isn't Manning or Brady but having this come looks bad on the NFL as a whole. That is why he caved so quickly and came up with that new DV policy.

Goodell covered up Rice for the same reasons Penn St. covered up Sandusky. Image and PR. That video was damning

There's been worse incidents than Ray Rice tho, if he saw the video and suspended him for the year nobody is talking about it right now

Breaking: Ravens also had the footage in April as well

Man i tell ya....
Harbaugh has to be a half way decent man in real life 'cause the world could see how uncomfortable he was saying "this is the first time we've seen the tape" every other sentence.

You could tell he was coached to reiterate that it was the first time seeing the tape. S*** was almost funny.
