Peterson probably told his son to pull his pants down and he accidentally hit lil man in the nuts. Lil kids get beat like that all the time and probably more so in the deep south.

In regards to the child Peterson lost last year, didnt he find out that was his kid days before? That makes it a bit easier to move on.

Please don't have a child but I feel it's too late

what are you doing

A four year old. This is not some 8th grader that is mouthy and knows better. Ridiculous and sick. I'm also a bit afraid of some the posters in this thread having kids as well. You have to be able to decipher the difference between discipline and abuse. Seems the line is blurred for some
Blurred? No. People are just stupid.

A grown man beating a four year old. Here are some things four year olds are learning to do...

Plays “Mom” and “Dad”
Is more and more creative with make-believe play
Would rather play with other children than by himself
Cooperates with other children
Often can’t tell what’s real and what’s make-believe
Talks about what she likes and what she is interested in

Language/Communication

Knows some basic rules of grammar, such as correctly using “he” and “she”
Sings a song or says a poem from memory such as the “Itsy Bitsy Spider” or the “Wheels on the Bus”
Tells stories
Can say first and last name
Child throwing ball

Cognitive (learning, thinking, problem-solving)

Names some colors and some numbers
Understands the idea of counting
Starts to understand time
Remembers parts of a story
Understands the idea of “same” and “different”
Draws a person with 2 to 4 body parts
Uses scissors
Starts to copy some capital letters
Plays board or card games
Tells you what he thinks is going to happen next in a book

Movement/Physical Development

Hops and stands on one foot up to 2 seconds
Catches a bounced ball most of the time

I'm really glad the NFL cracked down on End Zone celebrations and socks needing to match uniforms and such. :rolleyes

For real. Thank god these guys aren't out there dunking the ball on the goalpost and ruining the image of the NFL!

Banned?

Im not condoning hurting a child. I believe in the right to disicpline your child.

I also believe Peterson was not trying to injure his child. Temporarly hurt to prove a point (hit with a belt)?...Yes, but not inflict a lasting injury.

Injuries are only injuries when they are "lasting"? How long is lasting? A week? Two weeks? Permanent?

Leaving a child with open wounds is okay?

@ESPNNFL: Peterson's attorney told @GoesslingESPN in a text message that Peterson "certainly will" surrender to authorities.
