Y'all really never got a whooping before as a child??? Man this generation is so soft

As bad its starting to sound I wonder how this got past the 1st grand jury

Um yeah probably those belts leave marks. Seems to be a culture clash on how to discipline your kids IMO

this is what puts it over the top for me 

i have been hit before and had wheals bumps and bruises on my body

but how da hell did you get to a 4 year olds scrotum

Y'all realize he hit lil man 10-15 times with the switch right? That doesn't sound excessive to you?

My parents gave me whoppings/spankings but I never got hit 10 to 15 times. That sh*t would hurt like hell when you so small.
 
Times change, and what was once acceptable isn't always going to be okay. I was hit a couple of times as a kid but I was never injured, my parents never took it to an extreme. It's cool to discipline your children but rather than physically harming them why not try other methods. I'm okay with a spanking here and there, but nothing that really causes pain. When I was hit I don't think it ever really hurt but it let me know not to act bad.
 
I can't believe some of the ******** I'm reading. I got beat with everything under the sun as a kid and I would NEVER do that **** AP did to my son. It's has nothing to do with your culture or what generation you grew up in. IT'S ABUSE!!!!!
 
this is worse then the ray rice case IMO, nothing wrong with disciplining your child, but lacerations to a 4 year olds scrotum...his son is 4 years old bruh, imagine big *** AP coming down on yall scrotum and we are all adults...

I just finished putting my 2 year old to bed. In TWO years I'm ok to hit him and leave marks like that? A few of you are out of your G.D. minds or very young and immature

Ap didn't hit that kid in the nuts on purpose. It's hard for me right now to say if I will whoop my kids like this bc I don't have any. I grew up on this kind of actions from my parents when I acted a fool. The kid was prolly running around and trying to hide behind a bed or table, like I used to do when my moms was tearing my *** up.

Yeah, the NT tough guys gotta let it go. Yes, we was all raised diff back then, but this lil dude is 4. In 2014. With an NFL Running Back swingin on him enough to leave marks A WEEK OLD, that look bad as hell.

That's not ok fellas. Point blank.
 
The beating allegedly resulted in numerous injuries to the child, including cuts and bruises to the child’s back, buttocks, ankles, legs and scrotum, along with defensive wounds to the child’s hands. Peterson then texted the boy’s mother, saying that one wound in particular would make her “mad at me about his leg. I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch.”
Peterson also allegedly said via text message to the child’s mother that he “felt bad after the fact when I notice the switch was wrapping around hitting I (sic) thigh” and also acknowledged the injury to the child’s scrotum in a text message, saying, “Got him in nuts once I noticed. But I felt so bad, n I’m all tearing that butt up when needed! I start putting them in timeout. N save the whooping for needed memories!”

I can't believe you are justifying beating a 4 year old with a switch to the point he still had open lacerations over a week later :smh:

Peterson said he knew that his son had a doctor’s appointment scheduled for when he returned home and that the doctor would discover the injuries. Peterson added that if he felt like he was “really wrong for what I did, or had any ill intent, there’s no way I would have let him get on that plane.” He went on to say, “I have nothing to hide, but I also understand when a child has marks like that on his leg, they have to report that.”

When Peterson was asked how he felt about the incident, he said, “To be honest with you, I feel very confident with my actions because I know my intent.” He also described the incident as a “normal whooping” in regards to the “welps” on the child’s buttocks, but that he felt bad immediately when he saw the injuries on the child’s legs. Peterson estimated he “swatted” his son “10 to 15” times, but he’s not sure because he doesn’t “ever count how many pops I give my kids.”

Peterson went on to reiterate again how much he loves all his kids, and only “whoops” them because he wants them to do right. Toward the end of the interview, Peterson said he would reconsider using switches in the future, but said he would never “eliminate whooping my kids . . . because I know how being spanked has helped me in my life.”
