The money would be there regardless if it was Roger or a trained monkey sitting in the commissioner's office. This is about paying a guy $45 million/year who is basically a walking PR nightmare at this point. They need to cut him loose.

yes and no, to say they dont care... well look at it this way. If the players screw up and make the league look bad they lose money. So if they care about money...
