Yes, there were deficits but my point is he wasn't coming back the whole time. The games were close and his team was leading in the fourth at one point. It wasn't a Carson Palmer garbage yards situation, so he deserves credit for those yards. Of course they were all throwing the ball a lot.

If you're facing a deficit you need to make a comeback. He wouldn't have had those yards if he wasn't facing deficits. Don't know how else to explain it to you.

Kevin Minter is going to have a huge year in the desert. Washington is suspended and Dansby skipped town. He's acclimating to a defense that's already sound and tough.

Not sure why you feel the need to be condescending. Obviously the top players in yardage in the Super Bowl are going to be guys who threw a lot. I'm not sure why you think that is such a brilliant point. "But but he only threw for all those yards because his team needed him to throw for a lot of yards...."

My point is that those yards were extremely meaningful to his team. They were not garbage time yards. Why doesn't he deserve credit for them?

Fairy receivers??? Them Tan Boys gonna get up in your corners ***. Side note, I hope every team has a healthy training camp with no major injuries

Holup playa..let UncleTonySnow set you straight one time...nobody is gonna do anything to Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford booty holes round here in these NFL streets playa..

.Trufant is the best corner in the NFC south and one of the best in the league already as a sophomore player...Alford is a ball hawk

The thing is pimp you've been a Falcon fan a long time, so you should be familiar with how the Panthers operate. We punch you in the mouth with the running game and then we bring the load on Defense. So idk why you keep talking like we depend on a all out aerial assault. That ain't what we do baby. But I promise you we won't be held back by our receiving core. Plus there are talks of us going back to the 2 TE set more. Now if our Oline holds up we will be in great shape.

Peep game jezebel...we just added Paul Soliai and Tyson Jackson...along with drafting Hageman...now that's a lot of beef in that hot dog...you dig ? Only thing getting punched in the mouth is a floozy that don't bring me my money. That's it. We're forcing Canthers to throw the ball...and that's when Tru and Robert will be waiting...

I don't think it's a brilliant point, I think it's an obvious point. I apologize if I sounded condescending, I tend to do that without knowing sometimes. Those yards were definitely meaningful and his team needed them to be in position to win. My point is he probably wouldn't have gotten those yards had his teams got off to better starts rather than coming out sluggish. Kap threw for almost 400 yards in the Super Bowl, but it was because we had to come back.

I think the starting point of this argument was Kurt Warner and the HOF. Yards can be very misleading and it he does get into the Hall, I'm not sure his Super Bowl passing yards are going to matter much in his candidacy.

He was at the top of his game for like 4 seasons. 4 good seasons is HOF worthy? Jim Plunkett and Rich Gannon need to get in soon then.

I totally agree with this

I remember debating this point a few years ago and people thought I was crazy and that Warner was a sure fire first ballot HOFer but now that people aren't quite prisoners of the moment, some people have cooled on Kurt Warner

Rich Gannon had just as many great seasons as Warner. 99-02 were all elite years from him. If he wins the 02 Super Bowl vs the Bucs him and Kurt Warner are essentially the same. Warner's 99 and 01 years were amazing after that he was meh with two good years in Arizona as opposed to Gannon's 3 great years in Oakland coupled with a pretty good year in 99.

It's interesting how Gannon and Warner are similar.

Gannon had Garner, Brown, Rice.

Warner had Faulk, Holt, Bruce, Prohel.

Both elite for a handful of seasons.

and both going down to TB12 in the playoffs :pimp:

in before the *****ing and moaning about the tuck rule and spy gate

what's the real argument about Warner not being a HOF QB? longevity? is that it?

easy HOF'er if that's the argument against him

Imagine of Rice and Brown were together on their primes. Best 1-2 punch in nfl history. I always thought Brown was severely underrated.

I've heard nothing but rave reviews about McCown since he's got to Tampa. Also gotta figure in getting Doug back, a better offensive line, Michael Johnson, Verner, Mike Evans, ASJ and actually having a legitimate NFL coach with one of the best defensive minds in the league.

Falcons defense is still a piece of trash, their offensive line still blows and they have no tight end. Panthers have the worst offensive line, secondary and receivers in the league. And I'll say it...their defense as a whole overachieved last year. The Bucs and the Saints are the only two teams in the division that you can't point out any significant flaws.
