They were a 2 win squad with him last year though.

Only on NT would a defensive player on a team that's likely to win no more than 6 games be considered the favorite to win the MVP.

LOL.

Remove DeMarco from Dallas, Romo has 15 interceptions and they're 1-4. We can do that all day.

Right now, I'd say Watt-Rivers-Luck in some order in the top 3 for MVP. I just don't think the voters have the stones to do it. That and they'll have it in their mind that DPOY is their MVP.

naw

Today I learned that last years performances have an impact on current year MVP awards.

...and what makes that more surprising is your wife didn't even have to teach you that.

Shoes ain't far off though. Why would a DE get MVP on a team that will struggle to 500 and miss the playoffs? Quarterbacks are naturally more valuable. He'll get some votes, but ultimately end up getting DPOY

LOL.

Well he is a cowboys fan.

Them boys only live in the past.

Watt has been great. Think of how many great defensive players there have been since LT won the award. How many great seasons they've had. Watt is great but he's not the MVP. DPOY for sure.

Right about that, but they're bad now and the defense is bad overall.

Rivers, for example, is making a unit elite that would be mediocre with an average player at his position.  Watt is not making that unit superior.

No doubt he deserves some votes, but not serious consideration.

If Watt was on a really good team then maybe, but the MVP is a QB and RB award. We all know that.

If any defensive player could do it in this era though, it would be him.

He's been doing them every week this season or he's been doing them for years?

I love that he wore the DeSean jersey to dinner in that movie. What a ******* movie :smokin

Should be the MVQ award then.

^ This.

It would just be nice to see players other than QBs win MVP for once. Or just rename it to "QB with the best stats on a playoff team award" and be done with it.

I hate people trying to judge value. Way to subjective. It's slightly less subjective to look at the players and see who is the best. That is the MVP. Basically decide between the OMVP and DMVP

I basically agree but I do think MVP should go to a winner.... Call me a traditionalist.
