To be fair and objective, Carr has a far less functional organization and team around him to work with in his rookie year than any of the other rooks.

People honestly expect Carr to grow under Tony Sporano's tutelage?

Not saying he's good. Not taking any sides. Just saying It's still too early to judge rookies like Carr with what they have to work with.

Chip can make an average QB like Foles look above average and win games.

Tony Sporano and Dennis Allen ain't makin anyone look better

And I hate da pathetic raiders. But it's objective truth.

But Terrelle Pryor had already won 3 games for the Raiders by this point last season and his 'weapons' were Rod Streater and Denarius Moore...

Pryor shocked everyone with his mobility, defenses weren't ready. People were still adjusting to the read-option.

Defenses have adjusted, and now he's out of the league.

Coincidence?

ehh

he won a game against the Steelers because he had a 96 yard run besides that he was 10/19 with 88 yards passing and two INT's

he beat the vaunted Jags 19-9 with 4 FG's from Sea Bass with a 15/24 passing game for 126

his one solid win came against the Chargers last year

if that was Russell with those stats you'd be licking your chops

So we can play the weapons card with one QB, but not with the other? We're going to use the read option excuse?

Terrelle Pryor won three games with the Raiders and had no weapons. Andrew Luck took a 2-14 team to 11-5. But yeah, same diff.

And **** with that 'backtrack' noise. I've admitted many mistakes (was high on the Trent trade, thought Matt Barkley was the next big thing, etc). Derek Carr is currently 0-7. I'm closer to my prediction than y'all are.

Carr White Knight Brigade is out in force this morning. Goodness.

they are 0-7 but thats not because of the QB play. worst Running game, high number of drops per game and that defense is worst in NFL

High number of drops per game? League average is 5.5%, Raiders are at 6%.

Darren McFadden is averaging more YPC than LeSean McCoy, Alfred Morris, Andre Ellington and the Cincinnati Bengals backfield duo.

QB has to carry a team sometime...

as long as Greg Olson is the OC yea thats not going to happen.

Guy arguing that the talent on the Raiders isn't bad.

Just shows the stupidity people can convince themselves of when they're working to try and justify their biases...

the team Luck took to an 11-5 team wasn't nearly as bad as the Raiders teams; they won 10 games the year before and started Kerry Collins and Curtis Painter in 2011

Luck was also the best QB prospect in ages coming into a pretty good situation for a #1 overall pick

Talent is so bad that they were within a TD of the Patriots and a field goal of the Chargers.

Defense is 24th in points allowed, 17th in yards allowed, 13th in passing yards allowed, 26th in rushing yards allowed.

The offense has only scored 105 points, ranked 31st. That's where the problem is.

But yeah, "bias"

What? The team went 2-14. The Raiders won more games last year with Pryor/McGloin than the Colts did with Collins/Painter.

if those colts had our schedule they'd be right with us. look at our schedule

I meant the team Luck took to an 11-5 record wasn't nearly as bad as their 2-14 record in 2011; they won 10 games in 2010 and averaged 12.38 wins a season since 2003, it's not like that team was the talentless mess the Raiders are. They needed a legit QB to step into that situation, if you think Luck would have a much better record as a rookie on this Raider team then you are kidding yourself.

Carr clearly isn't Luck but who is; Carr can be a good QB in this league and he has shown promise regardless of the 0-7 record.
