If Watt misses the entire year, Houston is still not making the playoffs and they probably have one or two more losses.

If AR misses the entire year, GB is probably a 4-5 win team this year.

It's that simple. Watt has been a freak and has had one of the best seasons I've seen a DE have in years but he's not the MVP.

But that holds true for about 20 teams if their starting QB is gone. That's why I would like it to change to a best player award, a QBs value is inherently far too skewed to begin with

Browns are sticking with Brian Hoyer

JUST IN: The Browns are sticking with Brian Hoyer as their starting QB Sunday vs the Colts.

@JayGlazer: #Scoopage: The Manziel Era is NOT beginning in Cleveland yet as Brian Hoyer has been informed he will start this weekend vs Indy

@JayGlazer: Again, breaking news I am reporting Brian Hoyer will remain the starter in Cleveland over Manziel

@JayGlazer: Hoyer had widespread support inside the locker room. No brainer according to players in there

Jadeveon Clowney (knee) is getting a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews.

Visiting the doctor most synonymous with athlete surgeries is rarely a good sign, but there's no concrete reason to expect Dr. Andrews to turn up bad news. With only four games remaining, however, it is possible Clowney has played his final down of the season. His status should be updated before the end of the week

Welp.

Going to see the Grim Reaper of sports.

I think DPOY is good enough. You gotta have an unreal season as a defensive player to win MVP.

Cleveland making the right choice. Hoyer gotta do better.

I don't think Chicago wins but their offense has a lot of potential. Maybe it explodes this week. Way too much talent.

Johnny Football scored a rushing TD...big freakin deal

Hoyer is the right choice; ride or die with him this season then make your choice for next year

Not sure what the fuss is with Manziel.  A variant of RG3. Sling shot, feet movement, irratic SR20DET idle.

JJ Watt needs to be mic'd up every game

I appreciate the Rick Flair celebration lol.

My point is if the NFL continues to have the 'top' award be MVP, the winner is almost always going to be a QB since the QB is inherently more valuable than any other position in the sport. They handle the ball every offensive snap which is unlike any other position on the offensive side of the ball (besides center of course) who has to rely on someone either handing them or throwing them the ball. The QB is so important that it is the one position where for the majority of teams, if they lose the starter at that position they will miss the playoffs. No other position is like that. So fundamentally the value of a QB is more than any other player, even if that QB isn't an elite talent. What I want is the award to be changed to 'best player of the year' where all positions have a shot of winning because it is based less on perceived value to a team and more on 'who is the best'

A lot is a semantics argument as well, but just what I'd like to see changed

Made me remember this subtle yet brilliant exchange between Peyton and someone else last season when Manning was mic'd up. Watt had hit him pretty hard the previous play late in the game when it was way out of reach for the Texans, probably pretty borderline vs a legal and late QB hit, undoubtedly more violent than Manning is accustomed to.

Something like

Manning: "Ol boy Watt doesn't slow down does he"

Broncos WR: "No, no he doesn't"
