I still don't understand this love affair with Haurbaugh.

He took a team that had the pieces in place and won some games.

Kap hasn't progressed at all.

All their WRs are from other teams (other then crabby who was there before him)

He hit on Aldon Smith ( can't really blame him for his off the field problems ).

Like I don't get the love affair with dude and how some fans want teams to give him all this power.

I agree 100% with this. I go back and forth the jets fans that think he's a savior, a must hire and given all the power.

Just saw this on DS

San Jose police report getting a call from a local area hospital regarding a possible sexual assault victim who was receiving treatment. Officers responded and made contact with the adult female victim. The victim alleged she was possibly sexually assaulted a day prior. The preliminary investigation revealed the alleged suspect was Ray McDonald.

"From @nflnetwork research department in morning meeting: Since 1995, Sherman has lowest opposing passer rating of any CB, just edging Deion."

Patrick Peterson is better.

Are QBs throwing to his side of the field yet this season for that to matter?

I still would take a DB that can cover the entire field as opposed to one that just stays on one side of the field. Let's ask Namdi and Philly how that worked out when they took him off that one side of the field he was used to being on.

Antonio Brown dropped a gem today on Sportscenter while being interviewed on his size.

Interview lady: So what makes you so fearless to be able to work it on the outside? You also go over the middle with no second thought.

Antonio Brown: Well you know I'm from Liberty City, so...

Lady: What's that mean?

Antonio Brown: Self-explanatory.

:pimp:

Which DB would that be in 2014?

If i remember correctly he followed Dez Bryant on both sides of the field and only gave up 2 receptions. I dont think its crazy to think Sherman could cover both sides of the field if he was asked to. But the defense usually doesnt and that's what works for them. I don't think Sherman should be discredited because of it.

Revis

sherm and the coaches repeatedly say staying on one side of the field consistently is better for their defense...and how can you argue with the results? in the rare cases sherm has shadowed the #1 receiver, he's done well IMO

You'd think it makes it much easier on the rest of the defense when one guy can hold down one side of the field, allowing everyone else to focus on the other. Another DB out there might be better at covering both sides of the field than Sherman (still debatable), but regardless, Sherman still probably makes the defense as a unit better.

I am not saying he is discredited, but when he is already on a top tier defense and he only covers 1 side of the field and doesn't stay with the #1 WR the entire game, how can you rank him ahead of other DBs that do? They can miss me with the Deion stats too. He is nowhere near his level.

My thing is, do you think Sherman can go to another team, with a different scheme and be successful? You just said Sherman fits their scheme/system. One could say that he is a product of a good system with inflated states at that point then.

You guys are taking the entire field part to literal. You know I am not saying every DB position on the field, but he should be able to follow the #1 the entire game. You going to say the few times he has done it, he does well. He should since he doesn't do it all the time. I want to see him do it consistently all season and then see his coverage numbers that you guys keep finding.

Again, I am not saying he is trash, but I don't believe he is Primetime status like you guys are putting him up there with.

Yes I will still prefer Revis over him also, but that is me. Could be that I prefer press cover CBs as opposed to zone CBs as well, who knows.

yessir, especially when you have earl thomas in the backfield. eliminating one side of the field makes earl's job easier.

Dudes will always have an excuse why they don't like Sherman

Dudes will always be mad that people don't like players from their home town team.

I have to ask these Seattle fans though....Did you ride with Seattle in the 90s before they were decent, or did you guys start with Shaun Alexander and that team when you liked them?

And their front 7 makes the entire secondary's job easier.

What QB would throw to Sherman/Thomas side of the field? Of course you going to the other side.

You guys miss the entire point

I never said he wasn't good, but he is not God status on the field either. He is not miles ahead of the rest of the DBs out there. He is a product of a good system/scheme and the rest of the pieces around him are top tier as well, so you cannot give all the credit of that defense solely to him. Take Thomas and Chancellor out that secondary....is he still doing what he does now without them?

that's not on sherman though. that's how pete rolls with his CBs even before his USC days. again why fix something that ain't broken? number 1 pass defense again so far this year (yards per game not sure about qbr/passer rating)
