Romo looking great but people still won't give props until he has a SB appearance, if not win (and it shouldn't be that way, he's a great QB)
He is a very good QB, the O-line is the real MVP of that offense.  Neither Romo or Murray would be having these years otherwise.

And deservedly so, for Romo. The Cowboys for the longest time were made out to be more competittive than they should have been and it was simply because Romo carried the entire team. No defense, no O-line, so-so running game...Still competitive.

10027 you seem to have an issue with my use of great for both Andrew and Tony? If they aren't great (not elite) who is in thy category for you?

Murray and Romo have been good but I just can't give them all this love that NT is giving right now. That line is the only MVP. Half the QBs in this league would put up the same numbers with that line. Dallas' other two RBs look pretty good behind that line as well. Romo doesn't have to carry the team or throw the ball as much when you're draining clock and your run game is 2nd or 3rd in the league.

Exactly, Romo has had to carry this team on his back (literally at times) with no running game, no oline, and receivers that would run the wrong routes (Dez even for a time being). Even so, he has put up #s that rival only Rodgers, Brees, Brady and Manning.

Also doesn't help that you play for an idiot owner/GM/President/HC that has made the environment damn near impossible to be competitive.

Those 8-8 years are easily 2-14 without Romo.

All the Seahawk fans on here take shots at Luck or dislike him. It's nothing new. They think their QB is as good or better than Luck.

Except Romo put up great numbers without this line. His efficiency is what is the best of his career and that's a direct correlation with the help he's getting now. Specifically, the offensive line. In the past, with tougher opponents, Romo failed as the season progressed, because without help, you're bound to fail.

Well I do disagree, but maybe we have different standards for "great".

I think that Brady, Manning and Rodgers are great.  I think that Brees is usually but did not have a great season.

Really?

Lewis constantly gets outcoached on the big on the big stage and has NEVER won a playoff game.

Dalton constantly ***** the bed on the big stage and has NEVER won a playoff game.

Regardless if that's your definition of trash or not, there's no need for personal attacks, it's like the fans at the games that wanna throw punches because their team is winning or losing.

It is what it is.

However Lewis has proven to be one of the NFL's top coaches in terms of training and developing talent.

Dalton can be trash but in the net he is average or just sub-average,

He should be a GM of some sorts then.

I agree that Dalton is a choke artists and Lewis is vastly overrated.

On the side note, where as JJ takes shots at teams, who doesn't? Can't say i know a time where he went after someone directly. Koopa has taken plenty of personal shots, yes mostly at JJ but there has been others as well.

Either way it's a kettle meet pot situation. Let's not be hypocritical.

CP was in the Dolphins thread... we are all dreading another year or 9-7, 8-8 football with Philbin coming back. I said Harbaugh wouldn't go east, sure enough Ross knows something. No idea what this offseason will look like, I feel it will be a long one. I at least hope the Dolphins get a new defensive coordinator.

This day man.....

Preach.

Still will never forget:

First QB to not make the playoffs with having a QB rating of 102.3 (4th best in the NFL, behind Rodgers, Brees, Brady).

Finally no longer has to be Superman :smokin

Absolutely.  And now that they do have a line he's elevated his game.

It's so common that we act like QBs are having down years or great years just because of their own ability, but in reality it so often comes down to the pieces around them.  Eli Manning last season would be a good example.  Ben Roethlisberger's resurgence this year or Rivers' last year would be another.

btw i don't think russell is better than luck but i wouldn't put luck in the same category as rodgers/brady/manning yet. would like to see a deep playoff run (not necessarily win the super bowl)

I don't think Russell is better than Luck either.  I just think all the reasons people use to discredit him are ridiculous.

I only like poking fun at Luck because, like many heavily-hyped "future greats", he gets a lot of credit before he's earned it on the field.  LeBron James was the same way—and he eventually became one of the greatest players of all time.  But when you're a #1 pick people will look for ways to make excuse for your mistakes.

Luck isn't in that elite group yet. I think he'll be there in 2-3 years. I never thought Brees was elite. Good QB but he plays in a dome and is half the QB outside and in the cold. Brees is also a few years younger while Brady and Peyton are making him look old.
