@GregABedard
If my eyes don't deceive me, only Seahawks (6-1), Steelers (5-1), Patriots (4-1) & Packers (3-2) have winning records vs. other playoff tms
@GregABedard
@carbonflow You're right. 5-1. I must have slipped a 49ers or Philly W in there at this late hour.
@GregABedard
Seattle is 5-1 vs playoff teams.
@GregABedard
Left out Dallas 2-1
@GregABedard
Denver (2-3) hasn't notched a victory over playoff team since AZ on 10/5 in 4th game. Baltimore is 2-4 and 9/28. Amazing to me.

The point was the same as what Chester was making, just because AR doesn't have more yards than Brees, or TD's than Luck doesn't mean his 4,000+ and 35+ TD's are trivial.

Watt had a ridiculous year, but he didn't league the league in anything special either.

Also, just factor this in, there were something like 650 pass attempts against Houston this year. Watt sacked on 20 of those. 20. Of 650ish plays. That don't directly lead to points, or stop points. There were likely drives Watt got a sack, and the other team still scored on the drive.

Think on that when you guys mention "impact" and inspires his teammates, etc.

A QB that calms his team down (R E L A X) doesn't turn the ball over (ever), accounts for close to 40 TD's and leads his team to as many W's as any team in the NFL is fairly inspiring.

Again, *shrugs*
You have a point, just think the Watts inspired a team with less talent and lead them to win way more games than were expected of them, whereas Rogers had talent left and right with a RB to boot this year. Not knocking your argument, just think Watts did more with less while ARod had set pieces to help him with his achievements, good line, good recievers, better running back, overall, more to fall back on.

Pitchers been winning the MVP lately so it's a dumb idea.

I hate co-MVPs. Shouldn't happen. Rodgers at 1. Watt is at 2. Remove Aaron and that team is probably winning 3-3 games this year. Remove Watt, that team will lose a few more games but not nearly the same impact.

How old is Harbaugh's son? That was well written. I don't have a problem with him speaking, he didn't say anything that was too private or behind closed doors. SF is about to be **** for the next decade again.

Too many of y'all are crying about QBs winning it. It's the most important position in football, of course they're gonna win it often. We just had a RB win it two years ago.

Nah, telling people to relax (lol, wtf), not throwing 40 TDs, not leading the league in any category, and not winning a conference means exactly jack ****. It isn't inspiring at all and if he wins, it's no longer the NFL MVP. It's the Default QB Award.

Tom Brady deserves the MVP over Rodgers. At least his team won their conference.

Brady has had a good year but the NE season is about their defense. That's the biggest reason for winning 12 games this year.

hope he goes and wins super bowl somewhere

Atlanta does seem like a great fit. Friend of mine mentioned Giants and I almost yacked :x .

Would make sense though. They need a DC, he wouldn't have to move, and he could really stick it to Woody.

I would flip if the Giants got Rex as the DC. Not happening though. He already said its HC or TV.

Rex, Idzik and now Mike Smith are gone. Who's next?

Oh so winning conferences is the minimum criteria for winning MVP now?

Got it.

I'm sorry my memories just a little blank I don't remember the last time a Texan helped his team win his division, let alone the conference.

2011 was it?

Hmm.

Yeah, give Watt the MVP with that criteria. Makes a lot of sense *thumbs up*

As a QB, yep. It should be unless you have a season that puts you heads and shoulders above everyone else. Rodgers did not have one of those seasons, sorry. Hate to break it to his fan club but he didn't.

“@BrianCoz: Rex told the CBS broadcasters what he has been telling friends for weeks: he will not take a defensive coordinator job next year. #nyj”

The thing you fail to see is that I'm not writing paragraphs explaining why Rodgers deserves MVP.

I'm explaining why Watt does NOT deserve MVP.

I know it's obvious by now who my favorite player is, but I haven't made a single statement about him in this discussion. Not once :lol:

Brady
Romo
Rodgers
DeMarco
Watt

All Deserve HIGH consideration.
But only one of those players is NOT in the playoffs.

Any one of Brady, Rodgers, Romo or Demarco could receive a bulk of 1st place votes and I wouldn't mind. I agree that no one stands out this year out of that bunch by too big of a margin.

Watt deserves a couple consideration votes, but to say he deserves more first place votes than those 4 players who all were a major contributor to their teams success reaching the PLAYOFFS is asinine.

Keep on talking Rodgers fan club though as if that's all my posts have been about :lol:

Nice way to deflect away from the points I've made.

Hasn't Ben's season mirrored Romo's in a way? He should get some consideration (but definitely not win)

Super Bowl Odds:

1 New England Patriots 12-4 11/4
2 Denver Broncos 12-4 13/2
3 Pittsburgh Steelers 11-5 33/1
4 Indianapolis Colts 11-5 25/1
5 Cincinnati Bengals 10-5-1 12/1
6 Baltimore Ravens 10-6 75/1

1 Seattle Seahawks 12-4 13/5
2 Green Bay Packers 12-4 6/1
3 Dallas Cowboys 12-4 9/1
4 Carolina Panthers 7-8-1 75/1
5 Arizona Cardinals 11-5 50/1
6 Detroit Lions 11-5 22/1

giving an individual award to a player based on where his team finished. this seems smart.

rodgers outside of the insane TD/INT ratio didn't lead the league in any statistical category. if you're giving it to the player who had the best individual season, i don't see why the texans not being in the playoffs is supposed to be the reason JJ doesn't win.

i posted in the WIR

2nd in sacks. led the league in tackles for loss. led the league on lost yards on sacks. tied for 2nd in forced fumbles, led the league in fumble recoveries

this is with practically no one else of significant value on the defensive front 7 to take pressure off of him.
