Vegas knows :pimp:

Who the hell would hire Josh McDaniels after his performance in Denver. I didn't think he would ever get a shot at HC after that.

Okay then, give Watt the MVIP award.

Oh wait, that doesn't exist.

It's not just an individual award, if it were that way then non-playoff players would be winning more often.

A large part of the criteria is how valuable that player was to their TEAMS success.

If their team didn't even reach the playoffs, then what success is their to judge by?

Individual Statistical success?
That is not the purpose of the MVP award and it never has been. You know it I know it and the voters know it.

That's what OFFENSIVE & DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE YEAR awards are for. Players who played the best statistically and individually for their side of the ball.

So to say neither playoffs or team success
Mean anything for the MVP, means you're simply saying WHAT PLAYER HAD THE BEST STATS FOR THEIR POSITION, GIVE THAT GUY THE MVP. WHO CARES IF IT HAS TO DO WITH VALUE RELATIVE TO SUCCESS.

Even if they're a horrible or mediocre team with him

So clearly that player isn't influencing his team enough to win enough games to make their season matter, but since he got #DemStatz that's all that should be considered.

Okay

Harbaugh, one of four coaches in NFL history to win 44 or more in his first 4 seasons. Only coach to win 5 playoff games in his first three seasons.

Okay
this isn't basketball thoughl.  if watt was a QB and failed to lead his team to the playoffs i might agree but as a DE there is only so much u can do.  in baseball and football an individual can only influence his team so much.  if playoffless arod can win mvp i think watt deserves it as well.  wouldn't be mad if rodgers got it but this has felt like watts award since mid season

Rivers should demand a trade. I want to see this guy go to Buffalo or Cleveland. Houston or the Jets wouldn't be bad either.

Guess #Carrbage deserves to win the OROY over OBJ since QB is just so damn important in the NFL.

Go look through the 1st round picks of the NFL redraft thread and it'll say everything about how people truly feel about the value of positions in this league.

Pay attention Especially to who the first pick was, and who picked him.

Oh, and he explained exactly why he did so when he made the pick.

But the tune has changed now.

So you believe #ParkTheCarr deserves OROY over OBJ?

So you're going to ignore everything I just pointed out?

I was referring to you sarcastically pointing out how important QB's are.

Even the guy whose name is JJ Watt on this board still drafted a QB @ #1 ...over JJ watt.

And what did he say when he did so?

"man it's hard to pass up on my boy, but it's a QB DRIVEN LEAGUE. It's just the truth." (Paraphrasing, but you can go see the exact explanation he gave).

But now... it's not so QB driven anymore. Apparantly that goes out the window when trying to argue why Watt is MVP

Just because the league is QB driven doesn't mean a QB is the MVP every single year.

when has ARod missed the playoffs and won Mvp?

a playoff less QB wouldn't even sniff an MVP award let alone win it.

I wonder just how many years the Niners set themselves back by chasing Harbaugh out the building.

They ****** up.
