But...but they have Matt Flynn...

You are kidding but then the quality of the backup does come into play. I find that silly. Was TB12 less important those few years ago because without him they could still win 10 games? If Cassel was worse and they only won 5 games without Tom, then is Tom's value suddenly greater and more worthy of an MVP look?

 @ Idzik getting a raw deal.

If anyone got a raw deal it was Rex having to play with such awful offensive fire power with plenty of off-season cap space going to waste.

Idzik may be a "cap space" and financial genius, but he has 0 abilities to put any semblance of a team together.

He wasn't even Woody's first choice, he was like his plan C.

That's why you take your time and try to land Plan A type minds even if it takes a few extra years. The stability is worth the wait.

Idzik deserved to be fired. All that money. Should have went after DeSean Jackson, Revis, DRC and kept Cromartie. There's a lot things he could have done but didn't.

Wasn't Idzik trying to rebuild but was stuck with a popular coach?

Yes, and since he was stuck with a coach he didn't want he obviously went the route of "I'm getting my coach one way or another. I'm gonna not use this available cap space and let my coach suffer this season to get him out the door, then rebuild from scratch next year."

Obviously that strategy back fired miserably.

He should of just played the cards he was dealt and tried to use those resources as soon as he was hired. Employment Life in the NFL is not guaranteed. He really thought he could waste years in New York of all places sitting back and not even trying, waiting for the "perfect" year to start

Thats what I meant in him getting a raw deal

Most GMs get their chance to shape the team

Thats on Woody too, they should've had conversations about Idzik vision for the team before he was even hired

I definitely agree Woody is to blame in all of this too. Dude is definitely no Angel of an owner.

He just obviously isn't going anywhere.
But yes, a lot of the idiocy comes down from that Owners box.

Don't feel the least bit of sympathy for Idzik. Thought he was slick and stuck a coach he didn't want in an almost insurmountable hole from a talent perspective. Got what was coming to him.

@ChrisHansenNFL: #49ers considered top job and they are requesting all the top candidates.

This will probably be his last year though. Fired or retirement after next season. Unless they go deep in the playoffs. As a Giants fan, I'm cool with him getting one more shot. I would like Harbaugh or Rex but I don't see either coming to the Giants. The rumor was Cowher wanted the job but I doubt he still does. Making too much on TV doing nothing.
hasnt Saban being his replacement been a rumor for awhile now?

your job is to build a winning team, what team can win when your premier acquisitions are mike vick and a washed up chris johnson? guy did nothing to improve the secondary. he made the team worse, he deserved to go. he's incompetent.

@AdamSchefter: MRI did not show ligament damage to LeVeon Bell’s knee, per source. Will be difficult to play Saturday, but will depend on how Bell feels.

@AdamSchefter: Ndamukong Suh is being suspended for Sunday's game against Dallas, per @mortreport. When he appeals, hearing officer will be Ted Cottrell.

"During Seattle’s six-game winning streak, foes have scored three touchdowns. That’s one every eight quarters."

Good lord. :x :x :x :x
Not that it isn't impressive... But it's against Mark Sanchez, Ryan Lindley, Drew Stanton, Shaun Hill and the dog **** 49ers.
