NFL Discussion Thread: Pats win SB XLIX. Offseason begins

I just realized that there is nothing... NOTHING that gives me more pleasure in sports, than seeing Roethlisberger sacked for a loss.

GB's awful defense can do work against Carolina's sorry offense. NFL really needs to just do the top teams, no more division winners. AZ and CAR are not playoff teams.

Joe Flacco is average at best. Can't believe this guy has a ring and 100 mil contract.

Tate fumbles once and is already in the doghouse for Harris. Dude's probably having flashbacks as a Texan

Sacking Ben is like saber tooth tigers trying to take down a mammoth. Every time I watch someone get to him, I'm like is he even gonna go down?

Flacco is the Paul Pierce of quarterbacks.. they know the DPI is coming but they can't stop it :pimp:

Consistently playing well in the playoffs is a skill whether people want to acknowledge it or not.

Before Joe Flacco won anything he outplayed "elite" quarterbacks head to head in the playoffs, same for Eli Manning.

I don't understand how you say this while believing Eli is any different.

I don't think Eli is great but he got us two rings. We never had a great defense or a great offense during those runs. Say whatever you want but he's a big part of both of those rings. I probably have Eli slightly ahead of Flacco.

I don't think he was constantly playing well though. His first few years, that team was great and he was the weakest link. Multiple years players wanted him out because he was putting up Mark Sanchez type numbers in the playoffs. He got it done that one year and he gets credit for that one year. Do it again and then i'll call him clutch or consistent in the playoffs.

Year before he won that Super Bowl when Lee Evans dropped that pass he outplayed Tom Brady head to head.
