I've said the same thing in the QB thread.

Best passer of the football is big Dan.  Might not have the rings but dude threw the ball better than any of the other guys in the convo currently.

No run game, **** defense, meh line, decent receivers made to look better than they truly are....... :wink:

And I did see that...I don't know what to make of it, cause Briles is pretty much RG3's biggest fan besides Skip. Not too confident in RG3 being able to turn it around and develop as a pocket passer. If Winston were to fall to us at #5, assuming Tennessee doesn't take a QB, would you draft him or trade back for more picks?

This has been AR for a good chunk of his career too.  SB year he only got a run game from mid December on, defense created turnovers which gave him opps but D also gave up record setting yards i believe even in 2011 when Pack was 15-1.

Before Lacy and befor this current Bahk/Sitton/Lindsley/Lang/Bulaga group that has stayed together this year, his OL had been bottom 5 for years.  Truly bad.

AR's WR's are def better than what Dan had though.  Luck has a pretty nice duo with Wayne and TY but how much longer Wayne gonna even play...
 
i don't have Marino #1 overall (have him top 3) but he does have the single greatest season as a QB. no doubt there
 
Looks like an alternate to me. I'm just glad they're changing them. It was a bad era with the former ones. The last thing Georgia Frontierre did to mess up this team

Gurley and Philip Dorsett would help.

Or Duke and a couple pieces along the Oline. Maybe swing a deal for Mike Wallace as he may be available. (and would flourish with Luck)

At running back and TE I would say so, but I think they gave a tremendous effort at WR. T.Y. was a steal and Moncrief can turn into something pretty good. I loved Lavon Brazill when he was drafted with T.Y., but he just never got it going and then got suspended. I also thought Da'Rick Rogers could've been a huge steal too. He had one huge game against Cincinnati that showed his potential, but the cut him after a DUI. Hard to blame them given Rogers' track record.

Since entering the league in 2008, Flacco has drawn 78 accepted DPI penalties (including the playoffs), most in the NFL during that span and 13 more than the next-closest quarterback (Eli Manning, 65).

Yeah I was solely taking a shot at T Rich :lol:

Receivers have been solid, even Fleener should a little promise this year
 
Speaking of that:

The alternative is putting Browner on Torrey Smith, which is a disaster waiting to happen. As I mentioned on Monday, the other Smith has been a defensive pass interference penalty-drawing machine this year, drawing 11 flags for 229 yards this season before adding another 32-yarder in the first round of the playoffs. He has nearly twice as many DPI penalties and yardage drawn as anybody else in football. And Browner’s been a penalty machine for the Patriots, picking up a whopping 15 penalties (including five pass interference calls) in just nine games with New England.

So, Browner on Smith seems dangerous. A third option might be the best way for the Patriots to go: putting Browner on Owen Daniels. Tight ends have been the biggest weakness for the New England pass defense this season; the Patriots rank 17th or better in DVOA against all types of receivers besides tight ends, where they are the third-worst team in football. Daniels is very clearly the third target in a three-man group of receivers for Baltimore; he has 78 targets in 15 games, and the next most-targeted receiver for the Ravens is Kamar Aiken, who has just 33 in 16 games. Browner is far more comfortable on the sidelines than he is working in the slot or around the middle of the field, but by process of elimination, it would be best to use him on Daniels if the Patriots plan on playing a lot of man coverage. That would leave Kyle Arrington, likely with safety help on most plays, against Torrey Smith.
