Imagine if that was Prime catching that interception with ALL that sideline in front of him.
Dude would have started high stepping at the 30.

But what about the number one offense only scoring six points in the second half?
Maybe Rodgers calf hurting made Air Jordy's hands hurt, which made Eddie Lacys asthma flare up.

The dude thought he had a game clinching turnover. He was wrong.

But not understanding to go down instead of potentially giving it back and have you saying how he shoulda went down after is not hard to understand.

This second guessing sports viewing culture is just too much sometimes. Mogs are making decisions within split seconds to have dudes on couches waiting to see what

happens then declaring what the right move woulda been.

 Cmon now. Under 2 minutes? Then yes. Slide and game over. And even if Burnett gets stripped on the return the Hawks still had to score twice. Returning that INT had no drawbacks...

I will say the same thing about this that I said to dude who was saying Peppers instructed him to slide.....

Regardless of who told him to or why he did it, he still shouldn't have.  So whether the blame goes to Burnett himself or to whoever told him to do it, doesnt really matter.  And it has nothing to do with second guessing.  I said it right when it happened.  It was the wrong thing to do.  The fact that Joe Buck called it a "smart football play" all but confirms it was the wrong decision.

Burnett sliding is the classic case of playing not to lose, rather than playing to win. All this **** obviously came back and bit the Packers in the ***. Easily one of the dumbest things I've seen a player do in a pressure situation.

Plain and simple, on an INT like that, when you have nothing but green ahead of you...with 5+ minutes left in the game (and with Seattle having 3 TOs), sliding is inexplicable.

We were on that **** right away. I know Mike was replying to me asap when I was like what the **** is he slidin for????? :lol:

I couldn't believe he did that....even if he doesn't score, and as you said, he had a GREAT chance to get the Packers in FG range. An extra 3 pts would have sealed the deal for the Pack.

NFL teams visiting Gillette Stadium, deflated balls are the least of your worries. The New England Patriots apparently are devious, rule-bending jerks. Even building Patriot Place, the shopping plaza surrounding Gillette Stadium, was merely an elaborate scheme to help head coach Bill Belichick cheat, according to Sports Illustrated.

In a column framed around the accusation that the Patriots deflated balls in Sunday’s 45-7 AFC Championship Game win over the Indianapolis Colts, Sports Illustrated listed many other ways in which the Patriots “cut corners.”

Here are some: –Patriots staffers who supply the visiting team with towels eavesdrop and report back findings to the home team.

–Opposing coaches put locks on their locker room to prevent Patriots staffers from walking in to grab play sheets.

–Head coach Bill Belichick didn’t follow the unwritten rule to run by his ineligible formations with the league office before running them last Saturday

–Belichick instead ran it by NFL referee Bill Vinovich before the game in hopes to confuse and intimidate the official.

–And the best of all: The large monitor outside CBS Scene restaurant in Patriot Place only is visible to the Patriots’ sideline, which gives Belichick and the Patriots the advantage of being able to see replays.

Keep in mind that there are monitors in coaches booths, and teams have a person assigned to watch replays to see if a call on the field is worth challenging.

The column also includes this line: “Maybe some of this is overstated. But the perception is real, and it is not totally unfounded.”

The NFL will decide whether the Patriots cheated or not by deflating balls.

The investigation is expected to take time, and a verdict might not be reached until next week. Sports Illustrated’s Michael Rosenberg probably won’t believe their findings anyway, however, because “without hard evidence the NFL probably doesn’t want to embarrass one of its Super Bowl teams.” That must be why the Patriots haven’t been punished for any of their other dastardly tactics listed above.

Speaking of Lynch, think Seattle gives him a contract extension?

He was none too happy about not receiving an extension this past off-season and even openly spoke about the possibility of retiring after the '14 season (pretty sure not srs).


They spent a 2nd round pick on Christine Michael, who is an impressive talent in his own right. However there are concerns about his ability to pick up the blitz and his ability as a receiver, which is why Turbin usually comes in to spell Lynch.


Think Seattle pays the man or are we looking at a hold out?


Would love to see him as a Giant.
 
They'd be pretty dumb not to imo. They didn't make it any easier on themselves though with all the anonymous "sources" from the organization during the season that were throwing him under the bus and campaigning for not resigning him only to have him to outperform the expectations set out for him

. I could only imagine the feeling around the locker room if Russell gets the big money to the detriment of not being able to resign Lynch.

To go off what you mentioned,apparently he's told his close friends that he'd contemplate retirement if they won another Superbowl.

That offense would be unrecognizable without a workhorse like Lynch.

But here's the thing, Seattle might not want to resign Lynch because they do have Turbin & Michael.


And shortcomings aside, Michael as a pure RB, blitz pickup and receiving abilities notwithstanding he's shown flashes of a premier talent as a RB.


Lynch deserves to get a fat extension, we all know that but this is the NFL and we know that RB in the eyes of most front offices is the single most expendable position in the league. Teams stick with kickers longer than most RBs.


IDK, I think they don't budge. After the Harvin situation I don't think the front office has any loyalty to position players. The locker room definitely felt some type of way and the FO gave zero damns.

I don't see Lynch back there next year

I could see them taking Gurley or Melvin Gordon at the end of the 1st round
 
That's true but Lynch is a much bigger factor in their offense than Percy ever was. I wouldn't be surprised though if they don't want him back either,they made that much clear enough before the season began

I'd love to hear how Hawks fans feel about Turbin + Michael and if they're confident that either one of them could take over that work load.

It felt like a foregone conclusion Lynch would not be back for the past year

But Im not sure the FO feels the same way after this season not how much they ended up depending on him..and this is after Bevell came out and said they were gonna approach the season using a RB by commitee system

I hope something works out..Turbin has surely taken a step forward..CMike needs to improve on some things still but nowhere close to Beast Mode
