Teddy didn't win it. Hasn't been announced and I can't see him winning it. Good season but no.

Zach Martin is an interesting choice. He was a great OL but would he be considered for it when that whole line was great?

CJ Mosley was great this year.

Since most here seem to have ODB in for OROY,myself included, who ya got for DROY? I'd probably pick Aaron Donald or Mosley. Khalil Mack did have a great first season too so I wouldn't be mad with either of the trio.

Theodore Throwsevelt

Oh please. You even know he shouldn't be even CLOSE to winning that award over OBJ.

We're comparing a WR who looked like one of the best overall players in the entire league to a quarterback who had a pretty decent rookie season. Not saying he won't be a good quarterback in this league but he did nothing spectacular while the other guy made the spectacular happen every damn week.

I mess with ODBs skills but, Bridgewater flourished behind a mediocre offensive line, was without Rudolph at TE and Adrian Peterson at RB, sort of resurrected Greg Jennnings, got nothing out of Cordarrelle Patterson and played with a young defense too. Minnesota will be a force soon. 64% completion percentage as a rookie :x

Wanted to bring something back since we're so close to the game...

Couple weeks ago, I saw some "if Seattle wins, they're the GOAT defense"..."if Brady wins, he's the GOAT QB or #2"..."if Russ wins, he's blah blah"...etc. etc.

Why?

Why do people put so much stock into one game? Rhetorical question, I get that it's the SB and the biggest game of the season. But holy **** man, how can we be so black-and-white and all or nothing over ONE damn game?

Brady's legacy is set. IMO, the Seahawks legacy is set. Both are one of the best of all time at what they do...nothing that happens in this game should change that narrative.

I've always believed that body of work > individual performances & small sample sizes. Maybe if it was best out of 7 like the other sports, it might hold more merit w/ me. But I don't get that type of talk, ESPECIALLY in football where one player isn't gonna carry you all the way to the playoffs AND win a Superbowl for you. Winning a SB is a team accomplishment.

People get excited and carried away. Though SB wins do give that extra 'oomph' for GOAT lists. I'd out more stock in TB12 reaching top status than Sea (at this point, they certaintly aren't done yet)

Beating mediocre teans and compiling stats in the regular season is not as important as winning when it matters most.

Goodell is getting murdered on ESPN

Imagine if Aaron Donald had started the whole season. Dude is the real deal

In terms of Seattle D, they would have beaten the rushmore of QB's the past two years to win back to back Super Bowls. On top of the back to back years with the fewest yards and points allowed. To me, that's a solid resume for greatest defense, at least in the last 35+ years. (I don't know anything about the 70's Steel Curtain, other than they had much easier rules back then and less dynamic offenses)

As for Brady, his body of work will include this game, on top of everything else he's done. He'll have a fair claim.

Who knows tho? If the Pats drop 50, with Blount/Vereen/Gray rushing for 300+ yards and 5 TD's, that hurts both causes. But if Brady puts on a show, or the Seahawks hold the Pats to 10 points, etc, claims can start to be dissected pretty good.

If Russ throws a TD before the score is 29-0 does he move into the Top 5 discussion? :nerd:
