A witch hunt in the sense of why keep testing for drugs of substance abuse if you aren't going to set up a structure to help the offenders?
I know the retort is " they make a lot money, so they should be responsible" but the NFL is better than that, they have resources to help their players, so why not help them?
I dont think people consciously think about the consequence of drug use at the time, they are caught in the impulse of this disease
If you can spend all this money on private investigators and conferences, you should help the small amount of offenders

Few employers make it mandatory and the players probably wouldn't agree to mandatory. I think it should be offered yet up to the employee, it's their free will to get help or not

The PA and the NFL could negotiate a manadatory rehab
I don't think many players would be against it unless the NFL tried to be unliteral in the rehab process

They could. They haven't apparently. And I think you'd be surprised at the amount of players against it. Employees don't like being forced into personal decisions and actions such as that. Regardless it's a moot point, obviously it wasn't agreed upon

From my experience from several years ago the players would not be against a manadatory rehab for repeat offenders especially when it gets to point of a teammate missing games.
They are against the excessive drug testing that the NFL does when a player offends
I would like for them to narrow the drug testing of substances of abuse to the NFL Combine and 1st week of reporting.
The drug testing windows are a little wider than that now to my dated knowledge

Falcons owner Arthur Blank said Tuesday he has seen enough of the NFL's investigation of fake crowd noise at Atlanta's home games to acknowledge wrongdoing.
The NFL is trying to determine if the Falcons pumped artificial crowd noise into the Georgia Dome for home games the past two years. Apparently, the answer is yes.
Arthur Blank said he expects the NFL to conclude its investigation into the Falcons pumping crowd noise into the Georgia Dome "in the next couple of weeks." Blank had a quick response when asked if there was a fine line for crowd noise not allowed by the league.
"It's not really a fine line," Blank told The Associated Press. "I think what we've done in 2013 and 2014 was wrong. Anything that affects the competitive balance and fairness on the field, we're opposed to, as a league, as a club and as an owner. It's obviously embarrassing but beyond embarrassing it doesn't represent our culture and what we're about."
Blank also said that the circumstances that led to the investigation "bothers" him.
"Of course it bothers me," Blank told ESPN.com. "Absolutely it bothers me. We have great respect for the shield and the integrity of the game; the integrity of competition. So that bothers me a great deal. We will deal with it."
The Falcons face a fine and possibly the loss of a draft pick over the matter.
"We were advised by the league probably in November or so," Blank said of the investigation. "We fully cooperated with their investigation. They haven't published it yet.
"Based on the information that we had, we dealt with it internally; we'd rather keep it private until the investigation is public and we have access to the full report. We have some information now, but not the complete report."
Blank said there is a timetable within which he expects the NFL's investigation to conclude.
"We expect a copy of that will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks," Blank said.
Atlanta has been accused of piping in the noise while the opposing team was huddling, trying to call its play, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday. Some around the league have argued that silent counts have rendered crowd noise more irrelevant, and it's difficult to discern how much of an advantage it gave the Falcons.
The Falcons went 3-5 at the Georgia Dome this season and were blown out there 34-3 by the Carolina Panthers in Week 17 with the NFC South Division title on the line.
