Chp held him back
chip gave him the ball 626 times the last 2 seasons, which is the most in the NFL

he gave him the ball 312 times last season, which was 2nd in the NFL

that's not counting the amount of times he was targeted in the passing game

please explain how chip "held him back"

37 targets in the passing game last season compared to 65 the year before.
yes, chip Kelly hated lesean McCoy and buried him on the bench.. it was criminal what he did to him

Chip was 20-12 with Andy Reid's players, Andy Reid was 12-20 with Andy Reid players

Chip reached the apex of what he could do with these guys now he is making HIS team, really don't see what's so hard to understand.

I feel like your soul is ripped out without the Shady avatar :frown:

Is there a more diminished position in all of Chip Kelly's offense than running back? Plug 'N' Play apparently

going assume you didn't watch the patriots last year

The Chip Kelly system keeps reminding me of the triangle offense. Far too many times, people think systems make players, however without elite players, the system fails.

Nah, I just think having Sporles on board ate into some of his production/targets in the passing game.

I'm not sold on the McCoy's production dropped by 33% because of his skill, I think it had more to do with adding Sproles, Maclin coming back, the TEs stepping up their production etc.

Apparently Pitt's pressuring Polamalu to retire so that they don't have to cut him

,guess Lebeau's departure really did signal the end of an era in more ways than one.

People like to bring up the high-priced receiver... but outside of Beast Mode, who is the last top 5 RB to win a Super Bowl?

Last year was the Patriots collabo of RBs (had a combined like 60 yards rushing)
Year before was Beast Mode (who beasted)
Year before was Ray Rice (30 carries for 60 yards in the SB)
Bradshaw/Jacobs collabo won it twice.
Year before it was James Starks (50 yards)
Year before it was Pierre Thomas/Reggie Bush (55 yards)
Year before it was Willie Parker/Mewelde Moore (59 yards)

Pretty sure the Colts won with Dominic Rhodes somewhere in there, too. Corey Dillion and Kevin Faulk for the Pats. Bettis and Parker for Steelers.

Just food for thought.

You left out Joseph Addai. At the end of the day,you don't necessarily NEED overpriced skill position guys as long as you're set at QB.

his yards per carry avg went from 5.1 to 4.2

This.
Hope Troy retires or at the least goes to a contender...

I'll start questioning Chips moves when he has a losing season, or the Eagles underachieve for non injury reasons.

Whoa subtle shot across the bow

Is there a more diminished position in all of professional sports than running back?

Good question. Fullback was brought up but that doesn't really exist anymore

Of course, but you still need to get the right 'fit' of players in the proper system and maximize results. but great players can mask system flaws and bad players create system flaws

Brady, Flacco, Both Mannings, Rodgers, Brees, & Roethlisberger were the QBs though....

Is MM8 close to that potential?

The Patriots offense has NEVER been run dependent! NEVER!

Plus they have a HOF QB and #1 TE in the game
how exactly does that diminish the sentence?

doesn't them "never been run dependent" prove my point?

There's only one way to find out.

RBs in the league that had over 250 rushing attempts, only 5 of them averaged more than 4.2 per carry.

Reports: LeSean McCoy is "not happy" about going to Buffalo, could hold out
