I disbt say that. Overspending on lower tier FAs is not exactly making the team better

If they give your team even the slightest bit better chance of winning more than the current dudes on the roster yes it is making your team better.

Making a splash in FA works less often than otherwise in the NFL.
Chris Culliver is making 8 mil a year with this ****. Chris. Culliver
This league has always been about drafted talent.

Spending over 9 mil to a old washed up player just to get to the required cap figure ridiculous

If he's better than the dudes you got who cares.

I'd be furious if the Lions had tons of cap space every year and didn't at least try to spend it to improve the team. I'd understand if there was tons of young talent that just needed playing time that these vets would be taking minutes from but there ain't.

Keeping it funky the Raiders need to be going after high upside risks Knighton and Fairley just signed one year deals.

I've said it in multiple nba & old nfl threads, any professional sports league that have salary caps should have salary floors.

Spending is a plus in any sport.

Im lost at of all that the things people talk about in this thread, cap space is off limit? lol

Is SP and Jumpman drunk?...I is.

Bradford gonna ball out next year and the Vikings will finally be back in the playoffs.

I'll be completely right or have intoxication to blame. Win win. :pimp:

The curse of passing on Teddy is looming over so many teams right now.

Texans.
Browns.
Bills.
Jets.

He was right there!

@RapSheet: The #Steelers signed QB Ben Roethlisberger to a 5-year deal worth $99M that can escalate to $108M, source said. Big-time deal.

@AlbertBreer: Also, Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger gets $65 million over the first three years of the deal (2015-17), which is a record.

**** you guys for trading your ******* pick.

I know he was right ******* there, I was watching the ******* draft.

He was one ******* pick away from us.

One ******* pick.

Y'all had to go trade it to your butt buddies.

That's because he's coming to us and Russell to the jags in 10 seasons.

“@TheRealDGunnCSN: L.McCoy cap hit for 2015 11.8 million, news eagles: Murray (5mill), Thurmond(3.25), Mathews(2) and Kiko(.795).. combined cap hit 11.05 mill”

“@TheRealDGunnCSN: To clarify....That cap hit for Lesean McCoy is what it would have been had he played for the eagles in 2015...”

LOL. Do you always post random tweets and take them as fact? The article that I posted still remains the same though.

...and those tweets don't even include the dead money that Shady is still on the books for. It's even more foolish for you to believe Shady would've counted 11.8 against the cap when he said he'd be willing to restructure.

they also took on like $11 mil more in guaranteed money trading Foles for Bradford

Minnesota has a weapon in Mike Wallce. He got a bad rap in Miami for being a diva, but the boy did fight hard when he was out there (except for week 17). He does drop the occasional pass, but he also fights hard for passes too, he never got enough credit for that, imo.

I think Teddy will find him on some of those deep passes that Tanne couldn't connect. Expect him to do some damage against those suspect DB's in that division.

Chip wasn't happy, bottom line. I initially thought that Chip was going to find more thrifty options at RB and plug in play, that obviously wasn't the case. I believe that was his initial plan, but since Gore backed out and Murray didn't get what he wanted from Dallas, Chip saw this as an opportunity. Regardless of your argument, nobody knows what chip really values or what his grand plan is. Seems that he values Murray's skillset and running style over McCoy's.

"As Joe Banner pointed out, the total money spent over three years in McCoy's Eagles contract and Murray's new contract is almost identical. The difference? Murray is getting a reported $18 million in guaranteed money, and McCoy's deal was not guaranteed.

It's true that McCoy had a big cap hit in 2015, but that number was scheduled to go down in 2016 and 2017. The Eagles could have pretty easily guaranteed him some money, restructured and lowered the 2015 cap hit. But they chose not to go that route.

In other words, for roughly the same cost over the next three years, Kelly thought Murray was a better bet for his offense than McCoy."

I watch a few Phins games with my buddy who's a fan, and every game I saw last year at least once per game Tannehill had Wallace open deep and he'd overthrow him or lead him out of bounds
