Dang, just saw the philly dc game is only nfl network. Oh well, Chargers and 9ers game should be better

Amazing how quickly it hit the fan with SF. Mind blowing really and I still don't understand why

I pretdict this time next year Kapernick will be in the same spot Cutler is in now. Falling out of graces of the franchise and fans for being a bum. Almost think his contract extension was worse the Andy Daltons. And his play has a lot to do with how bad they have been, they have the weapons on offense but he stinks it up.

Maybe, but he has more weapons than a lot of other teams. Still doesn't make up for him being a bum that can't make the right reads.

I think Kaps contract is extremely incentive based. Has to make it the NFC championship, pro bowl ect. unlike Daltons, whose contract is just super funny.

I don't think anything is wrong with Peyton. Same arm he's had all his time in Denver. It's never been cutler strong.

Peyton's doing what he does. Winning games. IMO the broncos are even more scarier now that they've become balanced and it isn't all on Peyton.

What have you heard about his arm?

All I know is they've been pissing me the **** off having to watch CJ Andersen run 50 times a game.

sb sb

Franc, bro if you ask me, I would say theres a problem. IMO his arm looks weaker almost than it was in 2012. I really wouldnt be surprised if something on his arm/neck comes out at the end of the year.

ive heard rumors he had fluid build up in his elbow. dont know if there is any truth to that.

Making reads and having weapons are two things entirely. So which is it? He was fine in 2012 but its been downhill since.

Also, read up on his contract some more. Can Dalton be cut come April 1st or every year?

After leading the San Francisco 49ers to consecutive NFC championship games and one Super Bowl, Colin Kaepernick was rewarded with a "record" seven-year, $126 million contract.

But after Kaepernick's nightmare season we are already seeing that the contract is not nearly as big as everybody made it out to be, and he could receive as little as $25.9 million.

The contract, signed last summer, gave Kaepernick a $12.3 million signing bonus and a 2014 salary of just $645,000.

Kaepernick was supposed to get his first large salary ($12.4 million) in the 2015 season. But because of the way the contract was worded, that salary is actually going to go down to $10.4 million.

Starting next season, Kaepernick's salary goes down $2 million each year if he is not named first- or second-team All-Pro, or if the 49ers don't play in the Super Bowl the previous season with 80% of the snaps taken by Kaepernick, according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com.

The 49ers have been eliminated from playoff contention, and Kaepernick ranks 22nd in quarterback rating, which means the de-escalator is going to kick in.

In addition, while many outlets were reporting that Kaepernick's deal included a record $61 million in "guaranteed" money, it turns out the money was guaranteed only for injury. Each year of the contract, the 49ers can decide to cut Kaepernick before April 1 and will not owe him any more money.

Kaepernick is almost certainly going to be the 49ers' quarterback in 2015. But if he has another disastrous season next year, the 49ers could potentially cut him before the 2016 season. All of a sudden, Kaepernick's deal would be for just two years and worth $25.9 million.

That's not bad. But it is a far cry from seven years and $126 million with $61 million guaranteed.

Anyone who needed to wait until after this season to realize how the contract was completely team friendly either has reading comprehension issues, or is a a headline reader who doesnt pay attention to the actual articles.

Homie has one bad year, and yall ready to turn yall backs on him? lol... dont jump back on his D next year...

I don't blame anyone who thinks a QB is getting 150 million dollars when every news outlet is telling you a QB is getting 150 million dollars. Specifically ESPN, they either don't have a clue either, or choose to not have a clue. They'd rather give you a list of the top 5 highest paid QB's and put Kaep and Flacco up there the second they're signed, with Rodgers, Manning and Brees. Then 15 more minutes of, wow look at this, so much money. Other reporters then follow suit. Even though ESPN is terrible, we all watch Sportcenter for quick highlights and news. There's hundreds of different contracts out there, all uniquely complex. So I usually let it fly when people dont fully understand every stars contract because they didn't take time to dive in and figure out exactly how its structured.

I know I don't. Unless it peaks my interest (Kaeps did), more often than not I dont care enough outside of the Packers. When players get signed, I hear a number, assume its lower than that number, compare it to that positions market value, then compare it to the players level of talent. Just so I at least have an idea.

Those contract details sure make it seem like Kaepernick's agent did a TERRIBLE job. Not sure why you would let your client sign something with those ridiculous demands.
