I'm talking about Romo cuz

He only outperformed them in QBR and you aren't giving any credit to that all-pro O-line. The Cowboys are still at least an 8-8 team with that O-line + Murray and Dez,you make it seem like he carried them ala Luck

Alright fine, Dallas oline should get mvp lol. Still, romo has had one hell of a season. Somehow he gonna choke in the playoffs doe

Damn, I hella forgot about the Eagles. After they got smoked by Dallas, they kinda fell off of my contender radar.

Edit: placed them in playoffs in my head instead of the Panthers.

Yaaay for buying lower level playoff tickets before the game is actually even secure. Still some upper level steelers tickets left but I think they're going quick.

Face value seems like such a steal compared to what they go for on stubhub.

Gonna be my first ever playoff game. Went to the Ravens steelers game week 2 when we got punished so hopefully it works out better this time around with friendlier faces around me.

This may be a long read, but it will be worth it. I promise.
By all I'm sure you've all heard the news that we won't be back in SF next season. My dad was told the Monday following the loss in Seattle that he would not be back in 2015. I wish you could've been told then. It obviously wasn't my place to break the news. I know there have been months of rumors and speculation leading up to this over the course of a year so I just want to make sure you all know the whole story.
You need to first realize that my dad loved this city and team. He chose to coach here for a reason 3 years ago. He believed they could go far. It's why leaving is so difficult. You also need to know that he would've stayed if he could have. Unfortunately, he wasn't given such an option, and was disappointed by that.
There have been hundreds of reports from journalists each with varying reasons on why he was leaving/what the locker room atmosphere was like. Those people know nothing more than the average person about what goes on behind closed doors. They're in the business of looking for drama and stirring up controversy. I can't blame them. It's in their job description. That being said, I've yet to see a single article that truly depicted the real story.
Last summer a story came out about a potential head coach trade with the Cleveland Browns. If that seemed like it came out of left field for you, it did for us too. It was brought up by someone in the Browns front office who we knew, but it was a one sided conversation. The idea wasn't even entertained. Yet the media fed off of it, and created a story line where there was no story, and thus, we came into the current season with questions regarding my dads future with the team. Like the trade rumors, reports of locker room discontent also came as a shock. Nothing I saw in 3 years of being at the facility, on the team plane, and in the locker room at games ever even suggested anything of the sort. I don't care to point fingers because in the end it doesn't really matter who planted the rumors. The mere fact that they existed is enough. All I'll say is it wasn't a player or analyst as most have said. Look up what happened with Jimmy Johnson and the Cowboys for reference.
This is a talented team, and I believe they can still win. Injuries plagued us in a year that could've been special. The fans have sometimes forgotten that, and placed too much unnecessary criticism on the players we did have that stepped up or played through injury. However, there are still deep rooted problems in SF that need to be fixed to win the sixth Super Bowl. I'll just list a few of them to make this brief.
1. The front office We were aware and were told about the reputation of the teams front office when we came...we are well aware now.
2. Stadium There was no consistent home field advantage at Levi's stadium this year. I desperately wanted there to be one, but honestly, if I were on any other team, I'd love to play against our team there. You can blame the design, but it really starts with the fans. If you ever want to win at home next year and beyond YOU HAVE TO STAY IN YOUR SEATS IN THE SECOND HALF AND BE LOUD THE WHOLE TIME, NOT JUST ON THIRD DOWN WHEN THE TEAM IS AHEAD. It was dead silent at times when the opposing team was on offense. Trust me, u despised teams like the Seahawks and Saints, but their fans are loud from start to finish. They really do make an impact. It's possible here too.
3. Keep Frank Gore No one wants to win/cares as much about football as much as Frank. He was my favorite player on the team. Sign him.
4. The front office We were aware and were told about the reputation of the teams front office when we came...we are well aware now. I have respect for everyone there don't get me wrong, but I don't feel the season needed to end this way.
Lastly I just want everyone to think before you point fingers and blindly just throw criticism around. Everyone in the 49er organization had the same record for the past 3 years. Winning or losing is a team effort, and can never be put on a single person. All of this stuff you've been saying around around about the unwillingness to fire assistant coaches leading to us leaving and my dad losing interest to coach just isn't true. He fought with maximum effort and intensity till the very end.
I always tell my dad about the good things you all have to say. Your support doesn't go unnoticed. I wish you all the best and I hope the team be successful in the future for the sake of the fans. This city deserves it.
Thank you for a four amazing years.
WHOS GOT IT BETTER THAN US?

If the Texans were sitting there with 2 wins, would we be talking about JJ for MVP? Because last year he was playing at this exact level and you really didn't hear a word.

This team didn't even make the playoffs, but you have people advocating that he win MVP based on what, exactly? At the end of the day what did the JJ Watt-led Texans end up achieving in the 2014 season? That's the whole point people are making, his impact on the game is undeniable, but he's not as valuable as a QB who could take that team to where they need to be.

He's an awesome player who's played unbelievable this year, but at the end of the day all those personal stats and accolades still have the Texans sitting at home. You don't win MVP for being the best player in the league, you win based on what you do and how you help your team. He might've looked like he did everything out there, but he couldn't do enough, obviously.

Why do family members feel like they have a right to speak for their relatives.

Who the **** is his son?

Dont nobody need no letter from you.

Same goes for Marcus Vick, RG3 pops, and any other entitled relatives.

Agreed, it's not his place to speak on details about the situation, he should let his dad determine whether it should be put out there or not.

Chester you make me laugh.

I have made not 1 single post about who I think deserves MVP.

It's funny you'd just assume I'm being a "blind homer" and just rolling with my favorite player.

Watt is amazing. He may be the best player in the entire league. I have 0 criticism of him.

His position, is simply not able to be as valuable to the entire team for the course of a season as other positions.

You're smart enough to know the reasons why, It seems like you just hate the thought of a QB winning it so you've latched on to Watt as your best bet of taking the "cliche" QB MVP away for one year.

Hes the best defensive player in the league, and theres no question he helps that Texans team out tremendously.

He just doesn't help them out as some other players do for their teams. And it's not his fault. It's his position.

They really should make a best QB award in the same vein as the Cy Young in Baseball. Give the other 90% of the league a shot at MVP. Just call it the Unitas or something

I'm still surprised that people think that a guy that:

-Didn't lead the league in yardage
-Didn't lead the league in touchdown passes
-Didn't lead the league in completion percentage
-Didn't lead the league in QB rating
-Didn't lead their team to the best record in the NFL
-Didn't lead their team to the best record in the NFC

Deserves the MVP.

Good job finishing second in your conference with a decent statistical season. Have an MVP.

I hate to do this, but devils advocate if you want Watt:

A guy who didn't lead the league in sacks.
A guy who didn't lead the league in tackles.
A guy who didn't lead the league in interceptions.
A guy who didn't lead the league in TD's.
A guy who didn't lead his team to best record in league.
A guy who didn't lead his team to the playoffs.

Hey, he led the league in tackles for loss. He had a ridiculous year.
Aaron also had like a 35/4 TD/INT split or wherever he finished out at, and technically, no team in the NFL had more wins than his. Add in his rushing yards/TD's, gutting out his week 17 win against an elite defense, he likely gets the nod.

Rodgers, Watt, Romo, Brady are all good candidates, I wouldn't be too upset over any of them. If 2 of em Co-share it, even better.

*shrugs*

No defensive player can ever lead the league in sacks, tackles and interceptions

Its like saying why isn't Tony Romo leading the league in passing, rushing and receiving

His impact on the game in critical moments makes him MVP caliber though. Stats don't mention when he scored those TDs, when he intercepted those passes, and it damn sure doesn't mention how he inspired his team all of the time.

The point was the same as what Chester was making, just because AR doesn't have more yards than Brees, or TD's than Luck doesn't mean his 4,000+ and 35+ TD's are trivial.

Watt had a ridiculous year, but he didn't league the league in anything special either.

Also, just factor this in, there were something like 650 pass attempts against Houston this year. Watt sacked on 20 of those. 20. Of 650ish plays. That don't directly lead to points, or stop points. There were likely drives Watt got a sack, and the other team still scored on the drive.

Think on that when you guys mention "impact" and inspires his teammates, etc.

A QB that calms his team down (R E L A X) doesn't turn the ball over (ever), accounts for close to 40 TD's and leads his team to as many W's as any team in the NFL is fairly inspiring.

Again, *shrugs*
