A few come to mind, some choked away a championship, some blew big leads, some just completely collapsed when the pressure was on.

Post teams that fit this description.

2013 San Antonio Spurs
2011 Texas Rangers
2014 San Jose Sharks
2007 Dallas Cowboys
2002 Sacramento Kings
2007 and 2008 NY Mets. Smh
2013 Kansas City Chiefs
2005 Indianapolis Colts
2012 Denver Broncos
2013 Denver Broncos
2007 Indianapolis Colts
2010 Boston Celtics
2004 New York Yankees

Early 2000 Oakland Athletics belong on the list.

Current group of Athletics don't because I don't think any team could beat the Tigers with Verlander and Scherzer in a five game series (and very few could even get the series to the fifth game like the A's did).

2002 Sac Kings
2004 Yankees

1999-2000 Trail Blazers
2001 Yankees :smh:

That year the Memphis Tigers lost to the Jayhawks. Those missed free throws bit them in the end

I felt the same way about these A's. game 4 in Detroit was like their game 5 last October and they blew that lead though. I thought they were capable of beating Boston too.

2002 and 03 A's were the biggest chokers to me. Beating the Yankees is a tough task , beating the twins while up 2-1 and pre champions Red Sox up 2-0 is something they should've been able to do though.

That Romo blunder on the FG was epic in S&T history, though.

I remember this game. I was DYING of laughter. Someone please post the picture of Romo sitting on the field with his head down

2007 New England Patriots.

How was this a choked game? The Giants were clearly the better team that night.

2013 San Antonio Spurs

Def not a choke. Poor coaching at the end of game 6, yes.

Yeah, the 2007 Pats didn't choke. The Giants were manhandling Tom all game long. He was halfway to a hospital by the time the fourth quarter started.

I'm glad the 99-00 Blazers got mentioned. Although I don't think it was a choke job, they just got jerked by the refs, but that's water under the bridge.

How you have this list and don't mention the GOAT choke team? '90, '91, '92, and '93. 4 Straight SB Losses

'03 Cubs with Bartman anyone?

I wouldn't count last years Spurs as a choke job either.

I'd put the '07 Cavs in that spot though.

When you go into the Super Bowl as the undefeated, 12.5 point favorite, and don't walk out with the trophy, that's a choke. Period.

The 2013 spurs choked in the sense that 1 free throw and their champs, 1 rebound and their champs.

They had a 5 point lead with about 20 seconds left. Think how many things have to go right for Miami and have to go wrong for San Antonio in that situation to even tie it in the first place.

I was moreso shocked then anything because I expect a collapse from certain teams. Not the spurs though.

To me, only one of those bills teams that really choked was the Scott Norwood 1990 team. The other teams they played were just simply way better then them. Remember the AFC didn't win a Super Bowl after the Raiders won in January 84 until Denver won in January 98. A good chunk of all those games were blowouts as well.

I'm talking about on the whole. You would think if you go 4 straight times you'd get one. They got a goose egg. They have been labeled chokers, fair or not, for doing this historically.

But on another note, the 2011 Texas Rangers have to be the biggest chokers I ever witnessed.

Bad managerial decisions throughout the game, leaving a crappy fielder like Nelson Cruz in when you have Endy Chavez who would be ideal for fielding purposes.

Up 3 in the 8th, had previous chances to extend the lead.

Had the cardinals down to their last strike while up 2 and blow it.

Hamilton hits a 2 run shot to put them back up 2 and they blow that lead while having the cardinals down to their last strike as well and lose in the 11th.

So much failure in that game.

Also have to throw in this all-timer:

1992-93 Houston Oilers, AFC playoffs. Up 35-3 at halftime against the Bills. Lose 41-38.

I agree with this. But I believe that was game 6, no?

It was but I think for the most part everyone knew that with carpenter on the mound game 7 and with what a painful loss that was that they weren't recoverig in game 7. I believe they had one of their worse pitchers starting game 7.

I couldn't imagine how id feel if I was a rangers fan watching game 6 live as it unfolded. When the spurs goofed last year, they got recent titles to fall back on. That rangers organization never won nothing so that has to hurt.
