Teams who choked the most in Sports thread

The more I think about it the 03 braves need to be high on that list

The Chicago cubs have only won one playoff series since 1908 and the braves are responsible for it. That deserves its own level on individual infamy.

YO...I knew about the fact they haven't won a WS since 1908, but they've only won ONE single playoff series since then?! :wow:

Damn.

Ill put it like this. In baseball, prior to 1969. The team with the best record in the NL and the team with the best record in the AL both went straight to the World Series. It wasnt no ALCS or NLCS prior to then.

Still that's been 44 years ago and they only managed to win 1 playoff series in that timeframe and that was after the playoffs expanded again to include the division series.

They haven't even made it to a World Series since the mid 1940's.

I'm not even trying to be sarcastic, but how can you be that bad for that long? You would think one year they would eventually get lucky and win something.

It must hurt as a cubs fan seeing a team like the diamondbacks win a World Series in their 4th season or the marlins winning 2.

2007 Cal Bears were a Kevin Riley throw away from being #1 in the Country and then lost the 4 of 6 and finished 7-6 :frown:

Aaron Heilman deserves his own mention. That gutless son of a gun single handedly ruined our World Series hopes.

Miami Redhawks college hockey. 2009 Championship game up 2 goals with under 1:30 to go. Boston scores TWICE with the goalie pulled and wins in OT. Would've been the first ever championship for the college. That is f'ing pain.

I remember watching this.

My brother went to Miami.

Holy crap what a huge meltdown by them. really thought they would win it all.

Your bro sounds super cool and smart :smokin

Yeah it hurt. Only sporting event I legit may have had a few tears

2004 Yankees :wow: 2003 Red Sox though

2009/10 & 2010/11 Jets :smh: . b2b AFC Championship games and they blew em both. It almost worries me that that's the closest I'll ever see them get to a SB in my lifetime.

Had shonn green never got hurt in the Indy game they win that game. Peyton Manning in the playoffs and ground and pound wouldve won that game. Once the run game got shut down and it was all on Sanchez it was game over even though he put up a decent effort for a rookie.

2010 had they come to play both halfs instead of just the 2nd half in Pittsburgh, they win that game.

:smh: The 2010 Celtics will forever haunt me.

2003 Dolphins were stacked, leading rusher, sack leader, tackles leader and still missed the playoffs, also haunts me.

I'm gonna mention Tom Glavine for his last start of all time. Disgraceful. I wouldn't vote him into the Hall first ballot just to be a **** for that horrendous start against the Marlins.

Agreed on both. My gut swears to me we would have beaten the Saints in the SB that season.

2010 hurt me way more. Simply for the fact that we shut out Pitt that 2nd half IIRC, and like you said, if we actually showed up for the 1st half, we could have had a great shot at winning.

2003 Cubs (Steve Bartman fiasco)
2010 Bears (Lost NFC Championship game to Packers when they could have eliminated them in the last game of the season)
2007 Cubs (No.1 seed in MLB, get blown out in first round of playoffs)
2011 Bulls (Made it to ECF and lost to Miami Heat)
