A question on LeBron.

Do any of you think that LeBron is being forced by Nike to wear this new shoe, this year?

For some reason, watching him play, it looks as if he isn't very comfortable in this years makeup.

No. He wouldn't continue to wear them if he did. Look what happened with the XI.

It's the new team that LeBron is not fully comfortable with not the shoe. There's zero chance Nike can make LeBron play in anything he isn't comfortable playing in (as we saw with the xi).

All white lebrons with red accents are always nice :pimp:

Still waiting for black/reds... Breads :nerd:

Don't get why everyone's so hyped on the instincts..but to each his own.

Personally I can't rock a metallic purple shoe

Highly doubt it. If he were that uncomfortable, he wouldn't be wearing them at all, like the XIs. He's also never had any real problems with wearing his sig shoes before last year, so it's not some kind of consistent problem he's had for multiple sigs.
Yes, he did have issues with some of his other sigs.

In the III, he had traction issues, then switched to the Soldier's during that years playoffs.

The LeBron series went to Max instead of Zoom for a few, due to his back issues.

Finally seen the HoaLs in person, not worth the admission price imo... really underwhelming compared to all the glamour pics i've been seeing

Definitely aiming for $160 and lower on all the 12s

The soldiers were designed with the purpose of being the post season shoe.

Nike got greedy and started putting out soldiers and elites around the VII so now ppl are confused.

Only sig he had a problem with prior to his normal switching to a post-season shoe (Soldiers and PS/Elites) was the IV, and it was due to a foot injury he was getting through in season, wasn't the shoe itself.

The XI is the first time he had a serious issue.  Switching to soldiers/PS/Elites in the playoffs is always a scheduled "marketing" thing, not because of that year's sig.

He did have issues with his back in the VI, and that was the reason for the switch to Max Air in the VII.

That was a pretty serious issue.

He never wore the Soldiers that year. That was the 20-5-5s. I've never heard of the traction issues you mentioned that he had with the IIIs, but since he still primarily wore the IIIs during the playoffs, they clearly weren't that bad. Just look at the timeline:

http://nikelebron.net/photos/nba_05_06_timeline/

The first Soldiers didn't even debut until the following year, and that was back when Soldiers were his regular playoff shoe until they started doing P.S. and Elite models. He did switch off of wearing the IVs in favor of the 20-5-5s for a few games following an injury during the 06-07 year like dwoodactennis dwoodactennis mentioned, but he eventually went back to the IVs before debuting the original Soldiers later during the '07 Playoffs.

And the switch from zoom to max is not the same type of issue as what happened with the XIs. The XIs were supposedly designed with him in mind, but clearly that shoe did not work for him. He's never really had a shoe like that before that was supposedly designed and engineered for him that he couldn't even wear for most of the season. A switch in tech from one model to the next is not really the same thing.
