yeah if we could get a non slide-out box for these. yeah thatd be great.
I'd like to stay with the slide out, much easier for storage/access purposes.

Pretty much! I dig the slide out boxes. Better than the generic orange/red box from Nike and the el cheap-o boxes from JB. Even Soldiers get the slide out box.

I'm down for this model...
2 things, what's up with the flyknit on the top eyelet and what are specs on cushioning? No more drop in lunar PLEASE!

Matter of fact, no lunar. Lunar isn't for basketball imo

Truth for lunar. Each time I wear my XI's (5 pair total) the insert squeaks and you can feel it move. It's comfy casual but sloppy for hoops IMO.

Agreed.  No more lunar....that squeak made them "sound" cheap to me, even though I liked them on court...it was unsettling, and made them feel sloppy.

It worked for the Hyperdunks and Kobe 8.

going to have to see these in person and a few more different colorways to make my decision

leaning at about 60%

While this is true, on the whole the Hyperdunk and Kobe are very different from any LeBron. Mostly due to the player it's designed for. No secret LeBron basically freight trains through the paint etc and is extremely explosive. The ENTIRE shoe is design around him. The Kobe is a totally different type of shoe for another playing style, yet incorporate the same cushioning system? Like putting 17" Honda wheels on an Escalade... IMO

I mean, it worked fine for Lebron when he wore the Hyperdunk throughout the Olympics.

That was more of a promote this move in my eyes. Plus he wore Soldiers throughout and the GM X in the final game. An Olympic tournament is not the same as an entire season.

And the Oly hyperdunks was targeted lunarlon, and it also wasn't an insert which makes the shoe much more stable

And Nike was trying to promote that Nike+ sensor "technology" that came with certain colorways as well... namely the one LeBron and some other Nike representatives were wearing in those games.

true...

IMO as far as LBJ himself goes, a drop in insert should NEVER be used again.

and some at least in part attribute kobe's achilles injury to the lunar setup...which i think is a little far fetched, but conceivable.

as for the 11, the thickness of the insert just doesn't work with the volume in the toebox even for casual wear. many more complaints about the fit of the 11 than any other LBJ shoe i can remember...at least since the 7.

IMO lunar is just not a good setup for basketball simply because the responsiveness isn't there. comfort-ability is, but responsiveness isn't.

IMO nike hit the nail on the head with zoom max used in the lebron 10...then abandoned the tech in the LBJ series which was silly.

not a fan of lunar for performance bball at all

Exactly what I was thinking

But what was wrong with the fit on the 7s?

Nice find, I believe it's the "Instinct".  Purple/Crimson/Turq.  Still want to see the back half but looks very promising!
