Still browsing around for a new car for later this year and I got my eyes on the Avalon Hybrid, which gets 40 city and 39 highway. For those here that own a hybrid, is the maintenance any different and what is your overall impression of owning it?

You never buy a hybrid you lease a hybrid.

As soon as you leave the lot the hybrid technology in the car is outdated.

better yet, why don't you ask DispetGeneral about cars?

Full electric cars you have to eventually swap the lithiums for new ones... I believe after 5 or 7 years.

OP, you figure your monthly gasoline expense with your current ride?
I debated on a Hybrid versus my current SUV, but the "savings" at the gas pump weren't offset by the new car monthly payments.
I would have been spending more per month with a new hybrid... so I just kept the SUV and its 15-18mpg. Oh, SUV have larger gas tanks too. So instead of going to the pump every 5 days, with a Hybrid I would have been going every 8 days... not worth the hassle.

I drive a V12
You're so cool man

i am honestly shocked he didnt post a pic of it

i dont think ive ever seen him post in any thread without mention Aston, Martin, Aston Martin, or a pic of his car

i dont pay attention to some members so i rarely see you in any thread (i apologize if i do) but anytime i see you post its referring to your car.

test drove the avalon and i really like it. thinking about the maintenance costs on the hybrid as well. im pretty sure that it will last, the technology isnt as iffy as it was 10 years ago.

Really?

No son

People like to diss hybrids but maintenance is no more expensive than a Camry
And its a Toyota...

I got an 05 Prius and maintenance has only been oil changes and tires
and still get 50+ mpg
not to mention brakes are regenerative and last longer than traditional brakes

My battery is still going strong plus most have some warranty on them

A new hybrid tho? Idk you would have to think that over (driving habits)

A used is a no brainer imo

When driving a truck :x
