I'm at a little cookout today, and I'm devouring various meats. From chicken to steak.

Out comes the pork ribs. I eat em..I like em...but I feel bad after I eat em.
When I say bad, I don't mean bad as far as physically. I mean bad mentally. I feel like I'm poisoning myself with this meat.

Growing up, I was always told that as a Black man, you shouldn't eat pork. I never understood fully why, but I'm open to hear it, as I'm starting feel the negative effects. Is pork really the "devils meat"?

NT please school me

back in the day before refrigirators and abundant ice...pork spoiled easy in the heat and would get people sick. also, pigs ate a lot of trash and effectively "cleaned" the streets. so the whole, "god says do not eat pork" thing went viral in middle east countries...

similar to relgions where you fast for a day or whatever. food was scarce, so it was a way to get people to skip a meal or two. "god says to fast..."

I'm hindu so I was raised not to eat beef nor pork.

Beef because the cow is a sacred animal, pork because it is thought of as a filthy animal that eats slop.

In actuality because i'm hindu I shouldn't be eating any meat at all. Specifcally regarding cows, hindu's believe the cow is sacred because it helps life flourish, whether it's through it's milk, manure for plants, etc.

I'm slowly working my way to becoming a vegetarian. Maybe just end up eating fish.

I know from other cultures, they do not eat pork because the flesh is very similar to human flesh, or because they believe that pigs were once humans who sinned.

While pork may taste good (idk from personal experience but i've been told) just ditching it could be a great thing for your health.

i know pork is bad

but its just so good

i try and keep it to a minimum though

tryna cut it down a little more

I put ppl up there who don't eat pork up there with vegans and vegetarians and all them ppl eating kale.

However, I don't eat any seafood so hey.

"I mean he'd have to be 10 times more charming than that mf'er Arnold on Green Acres, you know what I'm saying."

I don't eat pork and it's really just a personal preference. Swine isn't appealing to me at all and there are much healthier alternatives. I'm a very spiritual being, but I don't follow a religion.

I try not to eat it.

Canadian bacon is just too damn good. Don't really eat any other pork products though.

why don't people like kale now  its delicious.

Why eat an animal that eats it's own excrement
One of the strongest stomachs known to exist. So strong that is digests it's food or **** at such a rate that some of the toxins seep into the muscle that you consume.

Sounds like if I consume the pig I'll become stronger. Maybe then I can develop it's strengths and be immune to poisons and other harmful diseases that can be digested.

Win win.
